I suggest to everyone who never played it and is looking for a deeper version of TS4, which more complexity and strategy - go out and buy it. It will take time to learn though, although the basis that TS4 gives will help you to start quickly. Be prepared to give up a bit of graphics and animations. Although there are more core animations there.
....it really seems now that I think about it, that TS3 is a reasonable progress to TS4. Sorta that TS4 is a tutorial and the first step, while TS3 is the evolution. They should have released the games in that order, TS4 first, then TS3.
I agree with everything you just said, I am a little worried the people that have only played TS4 when they play TS3 they might give up a little too easy considering its not as pick up and play like TS4. But if they stick with it, it can give you some of the most amazing matches and fun ever on a tennis game. Learning the mechanics of risking can be frustrating but one can learn and teach themselves to be competitive fairly quickly.
