Tennis Elbow, the game that isnt full of hype, has this depicted in all shots, now that is what I call realistic ball physics, and yet hardly anyone would have heard of this game. All Tennis Elbow misses is the animations and graphics of THIS game.
Hopefully Sega do have this in VT4 which, even though its arcadey compared to TS4, would for me make it more of a sim than this, if that makes sense! Judging by comments by some of the producers involved in the game such as '' We love how 'Move' gives us the chance to depict swerve in the game and true to life racquet movements....'' indications are positive that it will be included.
How any game can be classed as a sim when every single damn shot goes straight as a dye is beyond me (again, as mentioned in the subject field, serve's do have amounts of bend on them, so I exclude them from this rant). I mentioned this on the 2K forums just after TS3 was released but it seems 2K didnt pick up on this, they were obviously more worried about people's complaints about 'career mode', or 'signature animations' which clueless people seems to be obsessed with.
IF............a Tennis game were to include this, it opens up more depth than any other gimmick associated with the game could ever hope to introduce. The graphics are awesome now, so is the animation, the sound etc............but they get the most important part of the game wrong, the ball movement of all things.
This, like TS3, again has 'wind' mentioned at the beginning of each match, 'wind' in varying speeds, but guess what, yes, thats correct, you dont see it visible anywhere except possiby with the 'players clothes moving'..........how laughable.
Oh well, lets hope the 4 weeks of work 2K have done since the demo was created has given them time to implement this...........
I will give 2K one thing...........at least in TS2 one of the risk shots or 'built up momentum' things was the ability to do swerve shots everynow and then (trick shots in a way, not part of each ground shots natural coded dynamics), they certainly removed this for TS3 and the TS4 demo we have to try so far.
