I always wondered how this worked with ps3. The biggest problem for me creating a new player is that I have to delete updates for ALL games, not just TS3, forcing me to re-update everything every time I play any other game. Does the same thing happen on the ps3? Sorry to get off topic like this, a quick answer will suffice.

wow we are lucky. no you go to 'game data utility' which has patches/updates for each individual game saved like in a memory card slot like dys of old, so you just delete that. save games are in a totally different faolder called the 'saved data utility'

Ran into a new player on tour DRII. We only played a quick 3 set match, but there were tons of rallies and he's definitely one to watch out for. Fair, clean player. I was trying out my new Gray and he was using some 79 79 89 set up (can't remember).

We both got deep into one another's serves, but he broke me the one time i got to serve and won 0-3.

djarvik as Rogers Vs SoundfSilence as Johnson

Rogers won 7-6(4), 6-3

Image

This is one of the most enjoyable matches I've played, very mentally draining, but that's where the most fun was for me.

1st Set:
Johnson piled pressure on Rogers from the start, creating breakpoints. Rogers saved these, but they were close! Like in real tennis, when you get through a tough service game saving break points, you go on to create chances and Rogers did just that. He broke the next game!

At 5-3, Rogers served for the set and had a Setpoint. Johnson dug deep, saved the set point and broke back! The set went to a tie-break.

With a mini break up, Rogers was 3-1. Johnson clawed the mini break back, and was leading 4-3, full of confidence. Rogers held his own service points going 5-4, Johnson succombed to pressure losing both his service points and the set 7-4.

2nd Set

What pi**ed me off here, it was my turn to serve first in the set, but TS3 has a glitch sometimes after tie-breaks that it gets the next server wrong... I really wanted / needed to serve first to get ahead, but that was not to be.

One bad service game for Johnson, while stamina was flashing, Rogers took advantage and broke.

At 5-3, Rogers serving for the match. Johnson was in the same situation in the 1st set, so he had belief he can break. The first point here was crucial, Johnson with the upper hand, forcing Rogers left and right. He was in prime position at the net. Hit 3 volleys (no risk, as there was no need, he was in full control.. and didn't want to hand Rogers and easy error). Rogers manages to pass, at full stretch.

This point was the closest I've ever got in throwing my controller.

Nevertheless, Johnson got two breakpoints!!!! BUT, this tiime, couldn't convert.

The stats says it all. Rogers played the bigger points better (although he had the flu). To be fair, it wouldn't be nice of me to beat djarvik while he's ill...

This match was what SIM games are about!!!

No unfortunately.. There were very few easy points in the match. Both of us worked hard. He really drained my stamina

I managed to win some nice cross court battles. He managed to win many points that should have been my winners, but somehow he scrambles them back and gets the upper hand or forces me into frustration

I tried out Bishop for the first time against Apathetically who was using Cannon. I love Bishop, I always thought playing with a power hitter was my only option but after using Bishop I'm pretty sure I'm better suited to being a counter-puncher, At 4-3 I was up 0 - 40 to serve for the match but couldn't convert any of them and he won the one set practice match 6-4. I didn't check the stats but Apathetically told me I had 25 winners to his 7, very surprising for me because he was the hardest-hitter in the game and I was using the much less powerful Bishop. He works well for my game style, I especially love the L2 O cross-court shots I can do with him.

Thanks SoundfSilence, that was a great match. Most notably the fact that power was not a factor at any point of the match. Both players are fast and both have a distinguished asset, Johnson with volley and Rogers with stamina. My game plan was to place Johnson in red stamina asap and then go for winners. Johnsons plan was to get to the net and make Rogers come up with passing shots. Yes, he can hit many of them, but many is not enough, you need 50% + to win games.

This is a great match up BTW. If anyone wants to have some fun, recreate this match up and try to stick to each game plane. Fun is guaranteed.

Worth mentioning that prior to that match, Alex served a bagel to my Rogers with his House. Just couldn't keep up with him.

Maxopo beat me 6-3 6-1 I was Bishop he was Nakamuru! I made more winners but too many unforced errors for my liking. Couldn't really get a good rhythm because he short risk sliced allot. Guess I have to get used to that shot.

i don't use risk slice a lot, i use slice for defense, but only for defense and only slice, no risk slice, maybe i used 10 times risk slice in the match.

10 short risk slice in a match is 10 times too many

especially considering how little separates the competition nowadays. 8)
