I've been s&v'ing a lot with Lopez. Just mix it up well and you're fine.
Do it when your opponent is predictably returning to your weak side, and with serves that make it easy to cover that side. Try to give them two choices: return to your strong side, or try to find your weak side and let you put away the easy volley.
Or, if they're making you hit a lot of volleys from your shoe-strings, stay back. If they're keeping the returns deep, come in for the high volley.

The match I think was mainly decided on my First serve % which was 89 to his 80 and he made 12 unforced errors to my 5. He had quite a few chances to break he was up 0-40 while I was serving 4-3 up. But I was able to hit some good fast serves and that really made a difference in the end.

You countered my usual strategy well. I always go to the net after a good serve, but i had trouble with your return shots. To give an example the high topspin one. You used that one often, it did go wrong multiple times but it payed off in the long run.
One of my servicegames lasted about 10 minutes, that was really gruesome man.
GL in the next round bud.

he is good at the net, easily one of the best volleyers on the ps3.

First set we both held serve comfortably, I was working hard to construct the points but as soon as I dropped the ball short I was punished by the power, especially off my returns. My lefty serve outwide to his poorer backhand was invaluable as I won the breaker.
We both had chances to break in the second but he broke for the only time at 4 all and served out.
Very tense decider, but 2 mini breaks early on in the tiebreak put me on the backfoot. I saved one match point, and the second at 6-5 that I saved on his serve was an unbelieable rally which was easy 40+ shots. After that I thought lady luck was going to be with me but I dropped a service point again and he took it on his third match point.
It's tough to lose such a close match like this when you put so much on but all credit to my opponent.
Cannon also played the short angled approaches excellently and his backhand was very solid he finished with 20 more winners, as I would have expected, but I was on 24 errors to 9 which was my undoing.
