French Open 2009

Nadal is still obviously the heavy favorite and rightly so, but Djokovic is also having a great clay-court season and Fed just beat Nadal in Madrid, so maybe things are not quite as cut-and-dried as they seem?
Yeah I know the slower surface at Roland Garros suits Nadal perfectly and over the best of 5 sets he seems almost invincible, but I reckon there are a few who could take him the distance and make this years FO quite interesting.

What do you guys think?

BTW, here's what I thought was a great analysis and reasoning of why Fed was able to beat Nadal in Madrid.

I predict that Federer will take this one. It is more just a 'feeling' that I have, I know it's retarded to bet against Nadal on clay, or on any surface really....

It´s not retarted, there´re very good players out there and he´s human as we saw in Madrid, he can have a bad day.

I´d say 1) Nadal 2) Djokovic 3) Murray and 4) Fed
And I think Monfils can do a good tournament too.

Going with Nadal. Of course, if he is injured, it is the only way that others will dominate over him to win the major title . . . THEN AGAIN . . . :D

Nadal most likely , but he has been playing long matches lately , if this happens again in the French he will lose , and it will be djoko or Fed to take it this year.

God Fed!

He favors long drawn out matches right, Nadal?! On clay, he is very very very difficult, whether the match is long or short. Last year, he was a phenom!

I'm wondering if this last loss to Federer might creep into his mind abit during the tournament, and also how well djokovic plays against him.

Nadal is the safest choice this year, but i think his streak will be broken and it will be either Fed, or the nole. (More likely this happening if nadal was pushed hard in the early rounds

Well, Fed has the opportunity to stop Nadal´s 5th straight title, he would be the 1st guy in history to achieve that .
I´m telling this cause Nadal prevented Roger from winning his 6th Wimbledon, he couldn´t beat Borg. Now he may wants "vendetta".

That is too bad. He is a good clay-courter too. :( What is wrong with these French players (Tsonga and Monfils always injured).
