Fed and 14th slam

Postby Coolhand Texas » Sun, 22 Feb 2009 17:15

I think Fed has a shot at winning his 14th title at the us open this year, not sure about wimbledon though.

Fed passing Sampras, i dont know, it will certainly be tough with Nadal out there. If nadal doesn't make it to a final, then i think Fed will win. Nadal has some sort of psychological advantage over Fed though.

I hope Fed can pass Sampras. Just my opinion. :D

I think he will, at Wimbledon (Murray will win the US Open). After that, I think he's all done. Too many young guns.

Federer can win wimbledon, even vs Nadal! For the Us Open, he has big chances, if Tsonga, Nadal or Murray aren't in top form. For the Australien open 2010, you never know about this tournament :).

But I think we will see an upset on clay. Nadal will loose maybe vs somebody we didn't expect and Federer could win it then.

Fimbulwinter i like how u think, i would love to see nadal go out in the french and then federer wins it. That would give federer so much confidense going into Wimbledon.

Chances of that happening though are not in Feds favor.

He´ll win one more Grand Slam, this year, but it´ll be the last one.
I believe this current season is gonna be his last one unless he gets use to lose against Nadal and Murray lots and lots of matches.
He deserves the 14th, great guy and awesome player, the most elegant player i´ve seen in my life

Voted yes. He is by far the best on any surface but clay. He just has to control his nerves and mentality. As Federer admitted to us before, these variables set back his growth until he could finally get in control of them.

We will see.

I agree with mr. devilish in the fact that i think nadal will retire before federer. He is already having problems with his knees, and that doesnt seem to be going away. (I know fed has problems with his back, but thats better than your knees, or at least in my opinion) :D

Voted yes. I hope he can do it at Roland Garros, but I don't think that will happen. Well, Wimbledon then...

I doubt if he will win a 15th, but I surely hope so.

I didn´t say anything about Fed´s physical condition. He´s retirement will be because if you´ve been the best, why are you gonna be on the tour for 2 or 3 more years if you´re not the best anymore( that´s a fact), When he gets his 15th (to beat Sampras),and I´m sure he´ll do it, everything will be over.

I don't like the fact that poeple think Feds is done.
He always said his purpous was to enter the history of the game.
I'm positiv that he won't stop his carrer cause he's not winning 3 grand slams every year. In a few year from now, maybe he will win just one every two seasons but he will beat sampra's record and put it at a way higher level. I see him win at least 16 or 17 grand slams in total;
