How many PC players will buy a 360?

Postby Rob ITST » Thu, 20 Dec 2007 17:48

I see that quite a few from the PC tour have said they will buy a 360 next year for TS3, so I'm just wondering how many.

I will probably buy :)

but i have some questions so far:

1.does xbox360 support only "xbox360 gamepad", or i can connect any other (some logitech, for example, simply i want to use gamepad with the 'mode' button, that will possible to switch between D-pad and analog stick)

2.how x360 connects to the internet? I have cable internet access(from LAN by VPN), but it isnt constant connection - on pc i need to press: 'start'>'connections'>'name'... how it will work on x360?

1. Xbox 360 pad is better anyway. You will get used to it, especially being wireless. 8)

2. Buy a wireless adapter for your Xbox 360 and use a wireless router. This will auto connect when you turn your Xbox 360 on and you will be ready to play. You will need to sign into Xbox Live first though, which is very easy.

Hope to see you on Xbox Live very soon. :D

The xbox pad is one of the best around, but wargot´s problem is he wants to play with the d-pad. I don´t know if that´s possible in top spin anyways.

And the wireless controller is a good but quite expensive solution.
I connect the 360 via cable to my pc, which is wireless connected to the internet and let it use this connection. If you are familar with the Internet Connection Sharing, or network bridge, you can try this way.
(Of course, the computer must be on and the box near it)

It's not possible on TS2 to play with the d-pad.

I know they share USB outputs, but for whatever reason, you can't use a pc controller on the 360. So, to answer your question- no. It won't work.

I want to buy it for my sister, but I have the "Josh factor" at home. So, I would never do that.

Would I buy it for myself? No. I think that something bigger and better will come out.

Well, the same question came up before the release of TS 2. Of course, the fact that the game wasn't what we all had hoped for (for example lack of 4 players double), led many ppl to not buy a console for it.

I probably won't buy a new console, until there's a modchip and homebrew, which give me HD video (mkv container) support.

If you buy a 360 JUST for TS3, you're insane and you have problems...

I cannot recommend it either. I bought a 360 for TS2 and luckily there was a little game called PES otherwise it would have been the misbuy of the century for me.

Good point Yappadappadu. This is a HUGE beyond huge determinant for myself. This console that I buy must have 4 player doubles international doubles support.
