I can´t show in the Brains from the Topspin Programmers. But there can not be many.... :D

The greatest Joke is the Level (Note in German). You came higher with a win in free play. So the game try to find the perfect opponent to you. Nice Idea!
But... than you play against the Number 4 in WT. He has 400 Tournament Wins and has Level (Note) 2.

Why is it impossible to go higher or lower for every (!) Win or Lose? Free Match AND Tournament. I don´t understand it....

Well people manipulate the system. In topspin 3 it was all about who played the most matches that would be number one at the end of the week. Topspin 4 added "grades" so people would be matched up with people on their own level. But in quick match you get more season points if you win against someone with high grade.

So a while ago some people figured out that high grade makes it hard to get a lot of points and be number 1. So they started "degrading" their grade by going into quick match and quitting in the lobby which gives them a loss, lowers their grade, and they don't lose any season points. So some people keep their grades at 0 on purpose so they get a ton of points for quick match wins.

But give the ts programmers some credit, they fixed the ts 3 problem. People would just avoid good people by quitting in the lobby once they saw it would be a hard match. And they lost nothing for doing that. They would play every easy match they could find. So ts 4 made it where you would lose grade points if you did that. In ts 5 they are going to have to make losses or quitting make you lose points so their is no benefit for quitting the lobby.

I liked the Virtua Tennnis 3 ranking system very much. There was something called True Skill. Here you could only go up in True Skill if you beat someone close to you in TS. And if you would lose you would also drop very much. So in the end it was not the person who played the most matches, but actually the best player who was the number 1.

I hope they are introducing this system too in TS5.

Was there a world tour setup in virtual tennis 3? I do remember you could play doubles on four consoles, that was fun.

Doubles was very cool in VT3.
No, there was not really a WT. Just ranked matches
