Calm down Ary, you're a nice player, just get used to anims and play the tour with us ;)

Nobody will enter in a never ending fighting discussion with you here, because the spirit is totally different than in TS4 ^^

Why don't you discuss of this in private with Elias on the chat ? Maybe he could think about a consensus if your idea is interesting !

I think #12 would be perfect if it was a bit faster. Same anim, just a bit faster executed.

Everyone is entitled with an opinion; which anim feels better, in a large part is a subjective matter. Ok, underlined this fact let's go beyond that: :)

I really find it hard to understand why many people don't like m4n4c0r's Federer forehand animation. I can understand the "jumpy" feeling that it gives but that's all from how I see it; personally I don't feel bothered neither by that. The animation was intended to show Federer's aggressiveness and speed with this stroke and that's why he considered to create that little jump which I think every player makes in the follow through of a hard hit forehand.

Putting this aside, the animation has a great preparation, great speed of the stroke simulating very well Federer's arm speed, great feet positioning, perfect follow through of the racquet, technically is very detailed and very well designed and it's very very controllable (not true that the ball is not hit in the sweetspot; m4n4c0r specifically told me that). That makes it one of my favourites

For me it's the most controllable stroke in the game, for you it doesn't. In the end it's all about how one is getting used with a specific animation. The feeling changes from one to another, ceteris paribus. I'm sure you'll get used with it

later edit: about my anims, feel free to underline flaws or things that I can improve....don't be too "diplomatic" about it :)
By the way, 2 of my last anims that I don't see in the patch:

Tsonga's Forehand
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMVYHn-9t0A

Murray's Forehand, the new version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LltZPA0ggIY

Tsonga's forehand was intended to be very very aggressive. For this specific purpose, I'm quite satisfied with the outcome. I understand though if it's too extreme for you. Indeed doesn't fit less powerfull strokes or those hit inside the court very well

Murray's forehand it's just an improvement of the older one. The control for me it's more or less the same

Damn, you're right about Tsonga FH :?
It's included in the mod as anim n°27 but for some reason i forgot to switch/save the char with it , he kept n°23
Too late for US Open i guess, i won't force people to re-dowload / install a new update now.

I guess Jo will have this new forehand in 1.09 now unfortunately, but he shouldn't wait too long after US Open i guess, cause i think i spotted some overpowered chars around.. again.. ( don't ask me i won't tell  and won't use either, cause i'm a nice fella eh ;) )

About Murray motions, they are both included, n° 21 & 26, 21 is still bind to Murray at this time, right. Both are pretty similar, but for some reason i prefer the first one, the control is the same but the racket head behaviour / angle is a bit different, the grip position is différent in your new one, the racket heads travels with a flatter angle from the start, during the whole swing, maybe it's more Murray like, but the first one with the grip / angle a bit more open when the swing starts gives some more agressiveness (feels more like smacking the ball) to the swing wich imo feels visually better when hitting accelerations, but that's just my personal feeling about it.

The Test1.08 is here for such purposes so if other members can test and compare both motions for Murray (21 & 26) and give their opinion in this thread it should be great.

Federer's FH is often jumpy : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5rWS3sun74 ... On this video, he's in training, he's even not at 80% and he's jumping on most of his FH. And if the ball is high, he's flying... ;)
The base of his technique is to lower his center of gravity, and then push up on the legs when he's striking the ball.

You have a good eye for details :) I have indeed changed the grip a little bit...it's more "semi-western" than before....the racquet is also more close to the body when hitting the ball and yeah, the follow through is quite different.

@Manutoo
Nice to see you here :) By the way, any news about, you know, the animations for b1 and b1+b2 ? :) Have you tried my Fed backhand ?

A couple of weeks ago I did Fed backhand version for b1 stroke hoping I'll be able to use it one day..the one that you are using, as you know, it's very aggressive...This one is more relaxed

Take a look:
http://www.mediafire.com/?dx8z88jtakgeqex

Not releasing it yet officially on MG forum...I don't want to create confusion...Waiting big news from the 1.0f version ;)

Tell me what you think about it

I was expecting the release of 1.0f version to show my "normal" (b1) strokes of Federer, the "backhand" and the "forehand"....The previous backhand that I made was intended to be very aggressive so it suits well to the "b1+b2" or "acceleration" strike...the same thing for M4n4c0r's forehand..it's very good for the "acceleration" stroke so for that reason I did a "normal" version...I tested it to see how the transition from one stroke to another works (from M4n4c0r's forehand to mine in particular) and it feels great

Here's the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOV5p0VuSvE

Suggestions ? The forehand in particular, does it look a little bit too slow ?...the arm motion is very fast but overall because of the feets motion, it may look a little bit to "effortless"..tell me what you think

I'm very sstistied about the backhand instead.

The Animations are really totally important for this Game.
The Mechanics are a Masterpiece and I sendout a big Thanks to Manutoo and other programming Helpers.

But yesterday I saw how different the Game feels without the right Animations. Ofcourse it still has this outstanding Controlmechanic, but it's just another Hitfeeling if you have the right Position for the Strike.

Spend it the right Animations from Scratch and it's a total Winner.
Because if you play the Game with our ITST Mode, you are spoilt because of the natural Animations each Player has in our Mode.

Even if the Mechanic is always the same, the Game gives you a wrong and different Impression with the wrong Animations.

To be honest, I believe this FH you made is the best one until now, but I would use it as the accel shot with a little more jump. If i can give you a suggestion, why don´t create for Fededer´s b1 shot his topspin forehand? All Fed´s FHs until now seems to be a flat shot, and would be nice to see his FH with the racket swing starting below his waist, like in this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDjQs6aWd2k

What do you think? BTW, congratulations for your brilliant work...

Regular shot should be open stance, Acceleration neutral stance.

This is essentially how Roger plays. Sure, there are exceptions, but the idea is that Open stance give him more spin, he comes a bit more across, it is more defensive/neutral rally position. While Neutral stance is when he hits more through the ball.

Think of a weight transfer of side-to side on Open stance, and forward on neutral stance.

It is really not about the jump. He jumps on Open stances as well.

Agree with you about stance and jump. The different stances would already make a nice difference, and the jump is the less important thing IMO. But with the open stance, more than ever, Federer swings his racket a lot below his waist. I think both combined would give a very nice visual effect.

I was thinking about the neutral stance; from the videos that I watched though Federer uses it more for hitting low balls...it's true also about the "acceleration" forehands but more for those hit inside the court I think..Anyway, Fed uses a lot the neutral stance..that's a fact

Good idea about the top spin forehand. I already made that with Murray's forehand.

Well, I'm going to try then a "neutral stance" "top spin" forehand to see how it looks :) I'll show it to you before I release a definitive version.

I'll try also the "acceleration" version...if it feels great, I'll release it as well

How about to replace such colorless and neuter players like Melzer or Gulbis for James Blake or Haas? ;-)

Seriously would be awesome.
