Nadal´s rejection

Postby PerfectAce » Tue, 21 Aug 2012 16:01

Just wondering why just a few people use Nadal in tournaments here. Just had a practice match yesterday using him and realized that he can be a beast in good hands. Maybe I´ll give him a try in US Open, kind of tribute for his real absence in Flushing Meadows...

Ciao Roberto

yep, same for me, really wondering.

Elias tryed to explain it to me, but did not really understand. Something about the very high topspin..

Yep.

Nadal is a good char, but because of the very high Top spin stat, his shots lacked some punch, that's probably why. He was still a good char as his spin allows for some nice crosses and can cause trouble to the opponent, but for some reason Nadal is not a really easy char to use properly, at least i feel so, i'm doing more positionning errors with him than with Ferrer for example, so i think Nadal needs a very good control and consistent positionning to get all the benefits he can provide.

In 1.08 he'll have a 85 top spin stat instead of 90, you can test him out with this stat, it's noticeably better. It's pretty difficult to balance properly because you can't give him a lot of punch and at the same time making him the greatest defender of the game with top speed and stamina, he would be a monster then. So we'll give him a bit more punch reducing the top spin stat, but we'll also reduce the top stamina's among the roster (ferrer/nadal 's 97/98 to 92/93 for now, maybe 91/92 in the future, we'll see how it goes)

A note about this topic : Nadal's current 2H-BH anim contains some left/right movement that makes particularly hard to correctly center a ball while moving... I'd recommend to use another one (and why not the official clean one..? ;) )

Yep, this one in 1.07 was pretty bad i think several people noticed it when trying him :)

Lucian fixed it though and released a better version wich feels pretty good playing with this time imo : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJcPyztN8Tk&feature=plcp , so i integrated this one in our next version.

You ment the previous one right ManuToo ?

why not the default one though if any issue.

Elias,
I meant 2H-BH #2 ; it's created after Nadal's, although from a warm-up strike ; but at least, it's smooth & easy to use ; the heavy slow down during the preparation in the current ITST one (v1.07) makes also hard to aim left/right, coz that messes up the visual clue from the animation timing.

New version by Lucian seems better, though, but should check in-game to be sure ! ;)
