Congrats guys, we matched our biggest draw of 20 players. 8)

Very good mix of players. Nice to see people pick the big boys for the hard court.

Good luck everyone.

Tonight Robbin92 and I played: VMoe86 (Ferrer) defeats Robbin92 (Murray) 6-1, 6-3.

I was aware of that close exhibition match he had against Elias, so I surely did not underestimate him. I was afraid of not serving well with Ferrer, because I struggle with his serve animation offline. In this match though, maybe because it was online, my serve was solid. I was also quite happy with my return. Both together led to a convincing first set, but there were some good quality rallies and thus I did not take it a bit easier in the second set.

In the first game of the second set he got me to 0-30, but I managed the situation without facing a break point. Then I broke right away, but in the following game I had to manage a 30-30 situation again -- it definitely got more competitive. He moved and defended better than in the first set and there were less errors. So it was natural for me to go for a bit more, sometimes it worked, sometimes not. Then he also started serving better (he struggled with timing online), so from 3-0 it was neck to neck.

In that period I also faced my only break point of the match, but a good one-two punch got it done. I had double match point at 5-2, but he served very well there, no chance to get the return in! So I had to serve it out, which I did.

Good match Robbin!

Yeah Robbin definitely : never play offline for the timing. When I do that, it takes me time to adjust the timing.

So you will answer me : but how can I train ?
Just install the normal version of Tennis Elbow in a new file ; create a character with the exact same stats of the character you choose on the tour, and accumulate multiplayer matches by hosting games in "realism mode" without any preview/helps as in the ITST tour.

You will face players who has better stats than your character so it's a great challenge (sometimes, guys with 1500 ELO + better stats = huge challenge).
At least, their previews and helps are desactivated so it's not completely unbalanced. I met a lot of interesting people with this and it's a good way to promote the ITST tour.

Trust me : your level will increase fast with that kind of commando sessions :p

Just finished a match against Goroger1 (me as Llodra, him as Federer) : 7-6 ; 6-7 ; 6-4.

A very tight match. Firs set we both scored a lot of aces, so tie-break. He missed a couple of shots and I won it.

Second set, I never served so well since I played TE, always reaching the line, it was a nightmare for him I think (maybe 13 aces scored in that set). We went to tie-break, I made one error, him no one, so he won the set.

Third set, I sometimes struggled to win my service while he never.. Until 4-4.
I don't know how I managed to finally return his huge service (maybe he served a little less good at that moment), but it was 0-40 and I won it.

On my last service I finally finished the match, 6-4.

TWM-Fox (Federer) vs Polca456321 (Soderling) : 6/4 7/5

Just lost against TWM-Fox again, he was just better than me, even if I had 4 break occasions  But again there were a lot of aces, this time you'll be able to see it because there's a replay

Here are the stats :

Hi everyone ! Long time i havent been on TE topics ^^

First of all congrats to polca, i think he really improve in only 3 months of play. I'm pretty sure if he continue on that way he may probably be part of top players very soon.

Concerning our match well it is pretty similar to our previous meeting. Short games when we get 1st serve. Really hard to make to break for each one.

This time i managed to get the break as i think i got more return than last time. But indeed i got only 5 break points which shows that he is really efficient with his service.

I think i won the match cause i've been more agressive than him on returns and during the game. Further more i had 80% 1st serve with 21 aces which i think is one of my best performance in a match.

With all that, as you can see the score is pretty tied, thats why i really think that polca could get some great win especially with the upcoming hard season. My best wishes for him in the futur i think he deserve it, and he is a passionate fan just like all of us ;)

Elias (Murray) vs. PerfectAce (Del Potro) 6-1 6-4

In our previous meeting @ bet-at-home it was a very fast match where he only scored one game, and i'm generally not much cumfortable commenting such matches :)

Here i have to say PerfectAce played a pretty good second set, still he didn't drived me in a corner but breaked me one time, he showed better positionning and cleaner shots in the second set, and that paid, too bad he gave me that break at 4-4 with unforced errors, i just had to serve it out then.

Good match, wish you better luck in the future tournament draws PerfectAce :)

Just finished my quarter final: VMoe86 (Ferrer) defeats Marco_Theo_81 (Federer) 6-1, 6-2.

Marco had a slow start and thus the first set was over quickly. But in the second set he was playing on a good level. On my serve I still was not troubled often, but he got more serves back in play and returned better than in the first set. Main difference was in the rallies, though, because he timed his shots better in general, moved better and thus put more pressure on me. Thus we had long games when he served and some nice rallies there. There was one beatiful drop shot and lob combination from him to win a point. :)

Marco has a solid basis on which he can build his game around. Now he needs to work on certain aspects: I'd start with vertical movement. It's something I focused on quite recently, but it helped me to improve my game.

Thanks mate. It was a good 2nd set. I´m still not able to beat the top players, but I feel that I´m improving and hope to give more trouble very soon.

Good luck Elias!

Fox (Federer) vs CaiLL (Llodra) = 7-6, 6-1.

First set was really close, I play near my best level during that set, but on the tie-break i missed a little bit, maybe I was too much thinking about tactics at that time.

The stats were like 20 winners / 10 fault for us too.

Second set : Lost a bit the concentration at the beginning, he off course didn't hesitate to break me, I lost hope and never got back in the match :p

I must say something : he hit the most amazing passing shots of the tour, it's a nightmare to play against him at the net !

Congratz !

I was really exited to play for the first time C4iLL, well known for his amazing net skills.

The match was up to my expectations. Awesome net players, with great service volley, having break opportunity was simply impossible.

Good for me, i managed to keep the pressure and won the tie break. Getting early break in the second set simply kill the game where he was unable to play the same game quality. More comfortable, i managed to take out some great passing which has affected him mentally.

Congrats to him for his unique style on the tour.

PS: This match made me think about one thing for the upcoming ITST patch. I would ask to bring legends such as mcenroe, edberg, sampras and more. I think it could bring more choice and variety in the game. Further more, i think C4iLL could pick a player who can hold his baseline better than Llodra. Just a suggestion ^^ but i think some would enjoy playing with Legends juste like in TS Sim Tour :P

We were recently talking about this in "the players" thread. About the volleyer style not represented enough in the roster (like in reality unfortunately). So we suggested we may change another char style ( some varied one for instance) to volleyer, Fish was mentionned for this. It would be better if S&V players had some more choices in the roster than the only llodra indeed.
