It was so difficult to score a winner against you at first round, it doesn't surprise me a lot !

Yes so difficult , in training match he destroyed me! So congrats Elias, after a bad moment, you returns on your level!

Well, i'm pretty surprised to win this match to be honest as i couldn't score a game in our last match-up @ wimbledon, i just started the match hoping to lose on a decent score :) . I guess Kyuuji was'nt probably in great form today, and as he told me clay isn't his thing. About the match unfortunately there is no pertinent stat scoreboard to show because my computer crashed @ 6-3 3-3 and we had to restart hosting (with stamina reset, damn  )

About the match itself it was a stamina game mostly. I aimed to flood verdasco backhand with high top spins all the way and still Kyuuji used to hit some accels a bit too much and deplete his stamina faster than i did in the first set, so he did some errors then or i could push with accels with more safety by the end of those points, especially on the opposite side of the court after mesmerizing my opponent on the backhand side.

Ferrer has great moving potential and a 10% higher stamina pool than Verdasco, i guess this helped. When i got more impatient in the second set i finally lost my serve and the set at 4-5, so i started again to grind in the third set, and that was it. Kyuuji also tried some drop shots to shorten the rallies but most of the time i could reach them.

as i had a crash there is no complete replay available (couldn't find the .dmo for the first part), so i will post only the second part 4-6 6-3, wich starts at 3-3 40-30 in the second set (free points played to reach this score).

Well he completely deserve this match, couldn't do anything, it was hard for me to try to attack with Verdasco especialy against Ferrer, so what I did was to play with safe shots (Fire 1) all match, trying to defend, and it worked in the 2nd set, but well, Verdasco's stamina is so low so it was hard to keep the rallies and waiting him to make the fault.
Well, congrat to him, GG and GL

But in your never ending point, so and so , one tried to make something to finish the point, not only defense!

Congrats Elias! You did so much for the community and so I am really happy that you won, but also whom you have beaten is impressive in itself: First kyuuji and now TWM-Fox.

What is shocking is that this suprises you lool. Did you know that Elias is leading 29 - 11 and is heading to world n°4 ?! Well i think he reminded you XD

About the match, congrats to Elias he totally deserve the win of this match and the tournament. He was at the upper level and i don't think anyone could have beat him. Whole roster could have played against him nothing would have change, this tournament was his !

Perfect defense, clever place shot, strong mind (you need it to hold 20 shots points all the time lool). Simply Elias ^^

Tried my best to keep it tied, keeping the offensive, trying a lot of slice shot variations, but indeed, it didnt disturb him at all. Got two break on the first set, but it was only a warm up for Elias who catch up quickly the two breaks late and ended wining widely the tie break.

With a such defense, you cannot have enough stamina in order to build a good offensive. 2nd set was a formality for him.

Check it out dude, he swiped everyone with Ferrer, french players is for the first time in history at the top in Tennis

Congrats to him and see you all in US Open ;)

If someone beats you and kyuuji in the same tournament, the brothers who have lost only one match against the rest of the tour -- surely that is a bit of a surprise, although I was fully aware of Elias' skills. After all, I knew if I could have 50 shots rallies with Almagro (weaker stamina and weaker consistency), then surely Elias could make it very competitive with Ferrer -- and he did!

I think he has some good sparring partners. ;)

I didn't play on the tour as long as Kyuu and Elias. Beating Kyuuji with one lost is impressive, but i am on a early career unlike them, some more looses upcoming for me don't worry xD. If i can managed to have the sames stats as Elias in the same period time i would be happy lol.

Thanks guys for your kind comments :)

I'm happy to win my first tournament and i really didn't expected it, it's a strange victory for me because i'm usually the impatient type, but as i picked Ferrer it wouldn't have been smart to play him too much aggressive so i tried to play the usual Ferrer's undermining game.

Though i really don't consider myself playing at the same level as Fox and Kyuuji so i have to admit this results are worrying me a bit about Ferrer's efficiency on clay. Sure he has to be very dangerous on this surface in good hands but not unbeatable (because what will happen with Nadal then ? ), therefore i'm looking forward to see more match-up results between those chars in the next tournaments and also on fast surfaces and we'll surely run some more tests to check this out ;)

I'm still feeling that playing a very good defense with such a char doesn't requires as much controls skills than building a very good attack game in TE, that is, with our current roster and power scheme, on clay, we'll see how it goes in the future.

About this final it was a pretty good match, still the second set quality was overall better, i guess i had more flaws than vs. Kyuuji, couldn't keep up with that high consistency all the time, especially in the first set, that's probably also because Federer has better weapons than Verdasco to get thru Ferrer's defense, and Fox also know how to use him pretty well, he could hit several good forehand attacks wich i couldn't reach everytime, also mixing up with some poisonned BH slices wich got me in trouble sometimes :)

In the first set i was down 1-3, then 1-4, 2-5, by then i really didn't thought i could win this first set, but started to be more patient and played a more consistent defense game, trying to drain Fox stamina more, especially in the early points of each serve games to get it more easy on the next points , i could break him back then and close the gap to 5-5. This leaded to a tie break that i won mostly thanks to Fox unforced errors, thus the TB wasn't a tight fight.

In the second set i started more confident and had an early break in the very first game, then we could both hold our serves until 4-2 where i broke again to lead 5-2, by then i was probably a bit too much confident and then Fox broke me back in the next game where i'm losing the longest rally of the match (65 hits) losing my serve game :) he hold his serve then to 5-4 and then i "served" it out.

Here's the stats, you'll find the replay in media section ( overall you'll see a better level in the second set imo) :

Thanks for a good game Fox, hope you're not too much mentally tired because of this neverending flow of high spins
