Tennis Elbow Tour. Interested?

since I'll be skipping EA's tennis game (as I have been having problems with EA games lately) and I played several other versions of TEnnis Elbow, if ITST is interested in running a tour with this game I will surely buy the last edition and join!

There is a way to select the controls to be either Arcade, SIM or Expert (?). Different setting will result in different game play.

Also, there is NO "lock on" in this game. Which means you need to line-up your strings with the ball for maximum power and precision.

Start holding the button when you are in position to hit and keep holding until your shot is made. Then release and reposition.

Direct the ball after you are in position and holding the shot button. Keep direction pressed longer for more extreme angle.

Remember, pressing down direction will add Top Spin to the shot. Pressing up will result in a shorter shot.

it sound like the controls are similar to TS3 only your saying the player has to manual get his body postion and raquet position to hit the ball right ?

The main difference is that you need to hold the button rather then release, and the way you control the depth and spin (top spin) of the shot.

Controls are unique and "could" be more flexible, but the fact you have TOTAL control over the players movement makes this worth while.

i just tried it with my ps3 controller and I think it is REAL fun, especially for an independent game. If it works online as well as offline it can be a great game for a bargain price. I really like that every shot is unique in the way that there are no obvious angles which are played over and over again. the controls are really precise and you have to be careful what you're doing. I hope there will be a tour, I will definately join.

With all the respect to the people who like this game, unfortunately i find it too hard for my standards. I like simple, basic stuff, like eating, sleeping and having sex, not trying to understand the complicated, unearthly mechanics of a tennis game. TS1 was simple, TS2 was uber simple, TS3 was easy, DMT is super easy. Tennis Elbow is a nightmare for me.

Which part you struggle with? I am no expert, but can hold a rally with a Club level player and win What part is complicated?

I only played the demo a few times.

but I nearly had the same sentiments like El Rey - you must really work to get into this game and this work could be too much.

it may be the best simulation - but I like more a gameplay which offers you an easy step into the game without losing complexity.

but perhaps I just played to less, will retry it the next days. see it as a first impression.

Does not look nearly as good as TS4. I don't know how people can say Tennis Elbow looks realistic. The videos I saw just showed Federer and Nadal crushing shots perfectly on the line and corners over and over in a 30 stroke rally. And the movement looks very awkward and mechanical.

Except for a few little nitpicks, still a huge fan of TS4 for Xbox. Once you start to master the controls and play good opponents, it's a very rewarding game. I just wish they'd build in a good tour there, and fix a couple things (like adjust or get rid of black courts where you cannot see the shadow)
