topspin 4 injuries?

Postby el duuderino » Sun, 25 Sep 2011 23:24

i was just playing a WT match and something happened that i've never noticed before. right after a point ended, in the quick cut away to the individual players standing their waitng for the next point to start, my character started flexing his fingers and shaking his arm like he had some kind of nerve pinch or something in his wrist!
all of a sudden i thought what a great realistic little touch that i had never notcied before. it's like djokovic or murray pulling up lame after a big shot. anyone else ever seen somethin resembling an injury in the game?

No but I think it would have been cool if they incorporated something like this into the game and have it be a little more effective. For instance if you were constantly pushing a low stamina character beyond his limits he could get some sort of injury which would then limit his stats for a few matches on the world tour.

ohh please gawd nooo..! This was a major factor for me hating Virtua Tennis series... always having to take a break, energy drink or vacation., on VT4 if entering a tourney when not fully fit/energized, ended up with an ankle injury and flopped around on court like a drunk. But.... if they did put something in there like that, i suppose you could use those pointless experience points you get to pay for a physio or something?!?!

haha I never played the game but what I'd picture would be something very NON random at all, because I certainly hate when any game DECIDES what's going to happen (and Top Spin 4 is very much self-aware). What I mean is more of something to balance out the playing field a bit with the slow non stamina guys being able to run around all day... to kind of take away from that whole thing. It'd be cool to add some other things you could do to cause it... like ITST wise ya know if a guy hits a power slice and his arm just falls off!

lol, very just and fair enough...!

i'd like a cheese meter implemented for that. For somehow the game to keep tally of all the cheese play we all hate in this game. Players using excessive cheese will be booed by the crowd, and with their being the ranking list, we could have a cheese list, a hall of shame... the top 20 could be forced to wear a clown outfit or a great big hunk of cheese suit and have their raquet replaced by a baguette or somthing.

Yeah if you're playing cheesy the crowd could hurl banana peels at you that make you constantly slip and fall like Mario Kart.

I liked the 'attitude' button in TS2, that could be pretty hilarious cheering after like every single point

I love setting my guy to expressive. It's entertaining the way they dance like crippled chickens.
