Locking threads

Postby Tamthewasp » Sat, 10 Sep 2011 23:09

I dont undetstand why so many threads are getting locked, should we not be able to express our opinions and have a sensible debate or exchange of opinions without it being locked. If some 1 has a legitimate aggrevience against some1 else the thread gets locked. Its like a form of censorship. Unless its a blatant attempt to insult hosts threads should not be locked

things get locked when ppl get out of control, or when they put people on blast.

mmm i wanna lock this one as well

  joking

PS: I respect your opinion but we don't lock threads randomly, the years have taught us to know when it's the right time to lock a thread, and btw forum is not the place to show a "legitimate aggrevience against some1 else", you have the personal messages system to solve that situation

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

The thing is that a. it is rarely a legitamate discussion and b. complaints about a player should be pmed to the host, NOT posted on the forum.

Maybe amobea but now I say u complain about ppl ppl companing. So maybe locking ppl like you out of threads will be the next... Im not saying leys lock you out of threads, but that seems to be the next step in censorship.

We lock threads that are made to complaint about other players and depict them in a bad light. It usually happens after someone loses a match, but not always. This is one of our rules and it is not going to change. You want to debate a tactic within a game? ...sure, go ahead. But going on the board just to curse out someone in public is hardly considered a debate.

Which of the threads locked lately you think should have remained open?

(Usually, the person locking the thread will post a note why it was locked)

i agree tamthewasp, noticed recently my "NetSh@gger" (lol) post was locked. no message or explanation as to why, i'm sure there was definately no malice, flaming or grieviances caused but it got a big fat lock on it.... pooo... :( i would have liked to have seen how it panned out, and i'm sure there is helpful information for newer players and for future new players getting the game over the months and years to come up untill TS5. Where's the freedom of speech gone?
