US Open sign-up schedule (MS Only)

Postby djarvik » Mon, 22 Aug 2011 16:47

Please refer to the schedule below when signing up for US Open.

August 22-25th - Top 100
August 26-27th - Top 250
August 28th - Open to everyone

We will not be holding qualifying for this event. Instead, the higher ranked players will receive a priority sign-up. We will also be running Challenger (and possibly a Future) event at the same time as US Open. This could be a good time for you to snatch that title while most are busy with Grand Slam.

Good luck everyone.

Is it possible to play in both?

nope because they're starting the same date, but i can delete you from the future if you want, and then you can sign up for the US Open according to the schedule above posted....let me know

hi djarvik,
i recommend you that you award a wild card to players who are playing very well and they aren´t in the top 200.
there a lot of players ith a poor ranking who has won a future tournament and they are out of the top 200.
for example, is the case of benouz63 a great player who is now in the 178 position of the ranking and he has interesting shots.
in my opinion, you must give wild cards, 4 or 8 approximately, and after of the top 100, give 24 positions for players who are out of the top 100.
thanks

Yeah I think that'd be the best thing to do, sorry for the hassle!

I may not actually be able to play the US open, I will be going over to watch it for real between the 2nd-8th September so not sure how that will fit into the date deadlines for each round, I'll have to check if it's possible to fit enough matches in before I go, I would love to play it though it's my favourite tourn and court.

OK, and yep before sign up to any of the tournaments try to be sure you will able to play them.

You cannot signup for this tournament.
Minimum ranking allowed: 100
You current ranking:

I'm at number 53?

I would actually be even better placed if the points of the individual tournaments will be updated sooner.

Your women's ranking is 53 - you do not yet have a men's ranking.

As far as updating the rankings sooner, this is frequently asked. Rankings are updated when all tournaments in a given week are finished. This done in the spirit of fairness, so that each member's ranking is updated at the same time, regardless of which tournaments they play in.

Ok, thanks Rob. Since the U.S. Open to begin so soon, I will not manage it well to take with my male players turn in part, a shame really :?

Remember, only the initial sign up will be restricted to a ranking of 100, then it's 250, then it will be open to everyone. If you want to be sure you get in, just make sure you sign up quickly when the 3rd sign up opens.
