Tramline serving

Postby edlglide » Wed, 17 Aug 2011 23:56

This is really getting ridiculous. I can't remember the last time I played an ITST match where my opponent DIDN'T serve from the tramline to deuce court.

It seems like everyone is just letting the game drift them out wide over there and never correcting it, and it's getting to the point where it's not even fun to play matches because everybody is hitting wide slices from the tramline to deuce court -- and you have to hit a PERFECT (not just perfect timing, but the absolute correct placement) return to even have a chance to be in the point.

I also really wish we would ban slow serving (tons of people are hitting no power slices, which is just absurd), even as a change-up....because people don't do it in real life. You never see guys suddenly tossing out a 70 mph serve, because it would just get crushed for a winner every time. I know the return game is overpowered against big serves, and that is a problem, but the slow serves are so broken on Top Spin that it's out of control.

I know about that thread (I've posted in it several times) -- the reason I made this post is because despite that it's still out of control. Even pretty highly ranked players are doing it to deuce court, because they just let the game move them out there and then don't correct it....or only move back a little bit.

Agree. I´m really tired of complaining with the hosts about the tramline serving. The last time it happend to me I didn´t say anything to not look like a bad looser. But I decided that soon I´ll start recording my matches and send then to the hosts. If I don´t do this, I´ll quit playing in ITST...

Guys, remember, the tour is HUGE now. We have 315 ranked PS3 players and 300 Xbox360.

Are these Tramlines serves "same people"? ....or new players?

If you stop complaining, then we cannot stop the disease from spreading.

This will stop. Be patient. I personally warned many players about it, banned a few. I will continue doing so.

I am open for any other solutions as long as it doesn't involve "believe me I say the truth!" statements. Show me either solid proof, or file a report. Multiple reports ALWAYS lead to warning - disqualification - suspensions - permanent bans.

There is also SIM tour coming. Not only it will be more balanced, but it will also be more strict. It will be an option for someone who is looking for a very "clean" match.

Just a question. Even if executed from deuce court, wide slice serves are as ridiculous as tramline ones. Thanks to their likeness, are wide slice serves from everywhere (even from deuce court) cheesy and "tramline serves"?

i agree with you. Nowadays i've been seeing alot of people doing this and it is very hard to return against it even if you manage to return, it usually sets up and easy winner all the time
