What's a 90/40 tour? A SIM tour?

a 90/40 tour is separate tour where the minimum stat is 40 and the max stat is 90. A sim tour tries to recreate real life tennis i.e you have strengths and weaknesses that be easily attacked if no protected well e.g federer's backhand, soderling's movement.

TBH, I dont thin sim tour is necessary in TS4, but 90/40 would be pretty great!

This sounds like a great idea. However, I think it should be 90/45 since most people who stock up on power usually add a couple of points to the volley stat. Most of these guys have a 40 volley.

Should we accept things the way they are? Even if we feel there are room for improvement?

I think think this is simply a matter of personal importance for everyone. To some, that Dunlop racket makes the game....they will bitch about that. To others is the fact that the game was too easy and 2K made a tad harder, now they cannot grasp i, lose matchest....and bitch. Some still believe the game needs more tweaking (me). Some just can't get over the fact that Soderling is not in the game, what an outrage! What? No purple socks to go along with my blue haircut?

Bottom line is that everyone is looking for something different in the game. But what matters to majority is gameplay after all, this is a game that meant to be played, not only looked at. Visuals are important, but they take a second role to gameplay in my book. And it shows. Our draws are larger then ever, new players coming in every week, more tournaments, players online shows almost double since the last patch.

People having an edge afraid to lose it, people not having an edge looking to gain one. In between these people and agendas, there are actually some that truly look at the gameplay from neutral position and simply want it to improve, over all.

Bitching about power was here since day one. Was it addressed? No. Why? ...I don't think there is an issue. Sure 100 power is just silly, personally, I just lose that magic "fantasy tennis" feeling when I see my opponent has that. It takes away from my experience, personally. But I cannot say that I lose to these players. I do lose to IR/CPS.

More player balancing updates coming soon guys! ;)

Big thanks to 2K for staying with the product, supporting it.

I recognize your words, me to am all about that magical tennis feeling, it's to bad that some things make it impossible.

I may have a good and possible idea how this can be resolved,

In my opion, this game don't need much of on update on the gameplay, ofcourse there are some things that could be improved, but It's very good as it is. The biggest problem is that you can get kicked of the court by some mutant player with 100 power. There is one update that would INSTANtLY upgrade this game.

The thing I would very much see updated is the Coach and calculation system so you can create more realistic players. You can create a formula so players will be more balanced, not having any 'Mutants' that can blow you away. Now it's impossible to make a player with 85/75 fh/bh, and a reasenable power as well (75), let be also with a nice reflex of 75.. They can spread the points better in the calculation system, so you can't get THAT high power or speed, and more to reflex for example, and give more alround extra stats from coaches, like it's done with Pei Jing Quah, who has fh +6 bh+8 srv+9 volley +5 pwr +7 sta +7 speed +4 ref +4. Extra stats should also be adjusted by the specials skills, and levels you choose.

You should be able to create an allround player like Federer. An serve and volley player like Becker, or tough baseliners like Djokovic or Murray, so anyone can pick there own style, and not going on a like endless search for the perfect setup.. which doesn't excist. The setups you can create now are just not realistic and don't look anywhere like that of the pro players, which doesn't make any sense.
It's another thing that would definetely give you more of that 'magical feeling' ;)

Place me in the last line :)

well, i've won against every player in the top 20 on the world tour except Berson and Kuhlt... and that's why i do believe there's no perfect setup and there's no power issue. sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, just ask Nole;-)

but i see a little issue with the speed, as i created a player with power shots to see how it feels like playing it and just had 45 on speed. still felt like beeing fast enough for all dropshots, and i guess, this shouldn't be the case with just 45 on speed. maybe that's why powerplayers seem to gain popularity.....

So is top spin or monster defence still banned or just the chinese coach PJQ.
If they made it so speed actually matters then top spin 4 would be very very balanced.

what i think is the importance of speed is less than power....i think the advantage of 90 speed is not obvious compare with 90 power....since even u return good timing for 90 + powerful shots the return speed is still quite slow so the opponent can still have time to make another powerful shots again...especially with instant rocket...also such power coach normally can give player good serve + good FH/BH...
meanwhile, it seems that reflex between 50-65 is big difference so it makes the advantage for powerful player
refer to pros..you can see roddick as example...he's good at serve & power but weak for other attributes...which makes the game more balance....
btw...i play ITST just for fun and a chance to play with skillful guys...so i dun care about it much..even the MD/TI skills
