Be it through work, through family, or through notions of the mind, every man's goal is in effect immortality -- to reach that unending horizon of greatness which remains ever so elusive to those who seek it. So here begins the journey to immortality of a doubles team of the ages, namely the team of Black Mamba and Pete Sampras.

20.6.11
Having already dethroned the team of AMAZING ZIZOU / Tomiltom the intrepid duo of Julius Jackson / Julez II now await their next victim in the French Open Final. After losing in the SF the current #1 ranked team was left looking for answers as it was not only their 1st loss on tour, but also the only sets ever lost, including a 6-0 bagel in the final set of the 3-1 set loss.
So entranced by their form in Paris the tour has already begun Wimbledon so that the public might sooner enjoy the elegance of Mamba's netplay, of Sampras's running backhand down the line. And both were on full display in a R16 match vs jmasta7 / Guest in which Mamba/Sampras prevailed 0/0/1.
"Pete wanted 3 bagels but a bird in the 5th row distracted me in the 3rd set," admitted Black Mamba following the destruction on Centre Court.
Next up in the QF is the Croatian sensation Dapery and his unnamed guest (rumor has it could be Goran's love child).

The champions have now officially been crowned at Roland Garros. Mamba/Sampras dispatched of RAE1980 / SchwingerMongo in straight sets 6-4/7-5/6-1 to take their first of many grand slam titles on the ITST. With the title the team now takes over the #1 ranking from AMAZING ZIZOU / Tomiltom, a spot they don't plan on relinquishing.
Despite the straight sets victory Mamba voiced praise for his opponents:
"Both those guys have game. They surprised us with how well they executed and for the first time ever forced us to adjust mid-match. Mad props to them."
Next up is the Wimbledon SF vs the Lewis Bros, a team that just recorded their first win on tour in over a month over Bowler2151 / Cpudan80.

Fresh off their rampage to the French title Mamba/Sampras looked to reach yet another Grand Slam final at Wimbledon. The Lewis Bros stood in their way after a convincing walkover win in the QF.
Once again the team failed to record 3 bagels, as 1 error-filled gm in the 1st set led to a break of Mamba's serve. But they soon recovered and closed out the match with 15 straight gms to win 1/0/0.
When asked about his goals going forward Black Mamba had this to say:
"I don't really have any goals. It's more of a destiny thing. Pete and I expect to win every single match in straight sets. We expect to grab all 3 majors this season. There are those out there who think the #2 ranked team of AMAZING ZIZOU / Tomiltom can beat us...we plan to emphatically silence those critics in the Wimbledon Final."

20.7.11
Any dispute is over. The critics have been silenced. Black Mamba and Pete Sampras have cemented themselves as the #1 doubles team in all the land after capturing their 2nd Grand Slam title of the year at Wimbledon with a 6-2/6-2/6-1 victory over RAE1980 (3) / SchwingerMongo (3). Still undefeated for the year, Mamba/Sampras dropped just 7 total games throughout the course of 3 matches at the All England Club and look destined to go unscathed for the duration of the doubles tour.
Despite a long delay leading up to the Wimbledon Final Mamba/Sampras were sharp as usual at the outset of their match vs RAE1980 (3) / SchwingerMongo (3). They quickly noticed that despite Rae's improved wings he could not play the net, which was in stark contrast to Mongo, who came on court with weak wings and a good net gm. Needless to say, the blend proved unsuccessful as Mamba and Sampras pounded away from the net with impunity.
"We noticed that Rae has been working on his groundstrokes since we last played, but his lack of any net gm (39 volley) prevented them from presenting any kind of real challenge, " said Mamba. "We try to play lots of exhibition matches and it's truly amazing how many teams out there think you can win in doubles with limited netplay. The truth is that if both players on a team can't volley reasonably well (70+) then they might as well hit the showers early."
Next up on the slate is the Roger's Cup in 3 weeks time, followed by the last Grand Slam of the year, the US Open. It remains to be seen if there is a doubles team out there somewhere in the deep recesses of the world who can challenge Mamba/Sampras.
