I remember in TS2 a certain player (a prominent person here ) asked if we could play a 'practice set' before our ITST match!!!

I don't remember exactly what I said but it was something to the effect of 'No way in hell'

Hi everyone,i asked the same question on another thread and wanted to ask on this one aswell , as i stated on the subject, is it forbidden to use drop shots more than normal when you have the drop shot artist skill, to finish the rally or to get out of a hard situation (to use it defensively). After the last update, i changed my gamestyle and kinda worked on playing a more defensive game and using drop shots a lot since i have the skill aswell. I did not know that its called cheesy play and was forbidden until yesterday, my opponent warned and threatened me . I had no bad intention and stopped using the shot a lot and lost 2 games fair and square. Especially with the drop shot artis skill , shouldnt people be allowed to use it at least once a point? I checked the forum before creating that player with the drop shot artist skill and practiced a lot without knowing that its forbidden. Anyways , i want to read your opinions about this situation, if its really forbidden , im gonna focus on a different player from nowon.

Everyone now transforming into power cheat s&v style power players that have the advantage after the patch. Isnt that cheating?
The good players here are playing always deep perfect baseline corner shots. Is this real tennis? No its a way of super cheating. None of these is real tennis...

When a player has 100 serve and power combined with perfect volley or drop skill its cheating
When a player lobs all the time its cheating

So decide how can we play in order to be considered normal...

In my opinion, every play which is counterable should be allowed, telling me to use drop shot less often is like telling a serve and volley player to not come to the net a lot to win points. What if i find a weakness on an opponents playstyle and wanna try to get advantage over that weakness. Irl players try to play shots on Federer's backhand for exp. since its weaker than his forehand. So is it cheesy to shoot the ball to your opponents backhand over and over again , well i dont think so.

On the other hand if i continued playing like how i trained after the update at my 2 last matches , i was going to get banned because of ''cheesy play'' . But i dont really think using drop shots as much as i want is cheesy play since its counterable.I use top spin shots to control the play and either choose to drop shot or get the point with a cross angle shot. That makes my opponent think twice about where to move , stay on the baseline or move closer to the net to reach the ball after my drop shot. On the other hand i have drop shot artist skill and i gave up on power and serve to get that which is a huge loss,i have 50 serve and 55 power .
I want to hear more from people though. What do you think ?

oh dear... being cheesy and cheating are two different things, polakis. i understand perhaps there's a language barrier issue but, the point is to try to find the most balanced and fair competition while allowing different playing styles.
yes, it's just a video game, but it's a simulation video game. in other words it's trying its best to emulate what happens in real life. i'm a new member like you, but from what i gather, here at ITST we're trying to achieve the closest to realistic gameplay without sacrificing entertainment value.

So Serve and Volley players musn't come to the net every point , people with high power musn't use power shots a lot and people who are better at control shots musn't use it all the time or as they like? Created players have strong and weak points like pros, there's a reason that i picked ''drop shot artist''. By limiting my gameplay , my opponent gets an advantage imo, as long as my actions are counterable , i should feel free to play the way i want. Hopefully im getting you wrong Djarvik, i expected a friendly person before our match, even sent you a thank mail about this site and stuff. I want to think that you got me wrong, because i had no idea that i musnt use drop shots on every point, since you didnt have time , i played the games back then but i want to discuss it maturely now. People should be able to criticise itst staff when needed with a proper and kind way without getting banned, so im doing it right now.Why disallow a counterable gamestyle ? On our second match , i picked my old player which is kinda crappy after the update , power play aint good anymore so like i said im playing a more defensive play atm, i need to master control shots , but i enjoyed the drop shot/control shot playstyle a lot , trained until our match and bam! , you limited my gameplay and threatened me. I didnt make it a big deal and played ''as u wanted'' and lost the game. You played well , congrats but i did not enjoy being not able to play as i like.

In the end this is a game , its up for you to decide, but im kinda disappointed about your attitude against me yesterday Djarvik . I was expecting a more friendly approach. Have a nice day, what happens in the game stays in the game , so no need to make it a big deal, just wanted to express my feelings.

As I said to you in numerous PMs and yesterday when we played.

You are limiting yourself to drop shots only. My intention was to help you, rather then myself. As you saw I had no problem handling these...but I just know, since you are a new player, you will get a LOT of heat for drop shooting on every point.

Common man, I pmed you 4 games into the match, while being up. You were hitting drop shots on every point, without letting it develop at times. I had put away 90% of these. I think you scored 2 as winners.

I never said or implied that you can't do it or that drop shooting against the rules. I only warned you that it is considered cheesy to play it on every shot, abusing it so to speak.

We played two beautiful matches yesterday. You drop shot maybe once every service game. Which is cool. And you actually won more points this way. So if anything - I just helped you to improve your strategy.

I think you lost fair and square. You would have lost even more so by going to drop shot every time. I know exactly why you lost and what are you doing wrong. If you want, I'll be happy to help you via PM.

Don't say that because you are not using drop shot on every point you are "limiting your style" - it is the absolute opposite.

I have just finished a ITST game. After the game, my opponent said I have used a lot of drop shots and it was cheesy.

What I think is completly same as Enummievol. I really have no bad intention. I have no intention to play unfairly. My player is a baseline defender. He has only 63 power and it is not enough to finish a point. Therefore, I tried to mix with drop shots when the opponent was losing position.

Anyway, I respect to his view. I just want to know whether it is disallowed in ITST. If it is disallowed, I don't mind giving up to use drop shots. I just don't want to be banned.......
