Grass Court Warm Up's

Postby fedfan » Sun, 05 Jun 2011 21:25

Wimbledon is just around the corner and straight after Roland Garros a lot of big names in action in Halle and London.

In a repeat of last years final Federer plays Hewitt in Halle 1st Round. Raonic also playing there, with a lot of people expecting big things for him on the grass.

Nadal, Murray, Roddick and Tsonga all playing Queens, Djokovic withdrew. Feel like Roddick really needs a good tournament as he is lacking in matches.

They start tomorrow right? Think Tonga could do well, hopefully roddick too. Raonic has the game but maybe not the 'head' yet.

And Damn, Hewitt losing 250 points will even further damage his ranking. This is by far my favourite time of the year though, sooo sad I won't see Wimbledon :( ill be working away. And I think its just lunacy how A. Both queens and halle clash and B. Why there is no grass masters (or even a 500 series!!). If you are a clay court master ala nadal, you can rack up 5500 points by winning the 3 masters, barca and RG. But if you are the undisputed grass don, the max you can get is 2750, from queens/halle, eastbourne/ordina, wimby and the hall of fame

I can't see Hewitt playing much longer, he has done well to come back to a decent level after all his injuries/surgeries the last few years.

wow grass season is already here, great, hard to believe but i don't like the clay season.
BTW i think Fish will do great at Wimbledon, reaching QF, Sf or so
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

For everyone who hasn't played on a DECENT grass court, go out and find that sh**! It might be hard though outside the UK and Ireland :( such a shame. But in my opinion it is by far and away the best surface to play on.

I've played on it before and I'm not a fan of it. I prefer a good indoor court. Nothing better than consistent conditions and I love the sound of the hitting the ball indoors. :D
