It must be because of lag. I played Djarvik after, and never experienced it. If it's just a pause while the connection catches up, which it seems to be, then it can be dealt with.

i think these "run to the net hiccups" could very well be some kind of latency bug, OR maybe there is a particular top spin 4 coach that kills the hiccup bug, god willing, because it's horrible for us guys that LOVE to rush the net. samL64 was talking to me on XBL about this tonight and said the same exact thing. seems like many others are experiencing the run to the net, stop and look both ways hiccup as well.

Hm, not sure if you mean it, but it also happens offline to me. My player is often just reluctant to move close to the net and take the ball before the bounce. Seems very random if he just moves forward and hit a volley, or waits (and even sometimes moving backward without me giving that input! :? ) for the ball to bounce. That results in the impossibility to time your shots. If i time for a volley, the timing is completely off if my player lets the ball bounce prior to hitting it, resulting in some weak crappy shot that anyone can blast past me.

i have this problem also, when you hit a good serve and it works, the movement to the net and the put away is so fluid is brilliant. However when not its kind of annoying. also when playing the CPU, if i stay back the return will be deep, if i SV the return is always short and i have to low or half volley 50% of the time...

I said this in another thread, but just to make sure everyone in the S&VS is aware:

If it happens offline, it's probably because you held RB too long. I think you need to release it as soon as you hit the serve - if you hold it, you can get stuck in no mans land.

I have a female S&V I'm playing with, and I dominate with her in the offline career mode. But the issue you guys are talking about is KILLING me online. I can't get her to the net; she will take a few steps and then stop and then start again and always ends up way out of position. I've had to start backing off and playing her as a baseliner because it's just winners left and right with her in no man's land every time. It's getting to the point where I just want to quit trying to play S&V at all.

I've been using a female S&V player online and haven't really had many problems. I lost my first 2 matches, and since then have won 10 or 12 straight WT matches. I played a tight 3 set friendly with Devilish.

Hey Folks, I know I'm not in your club, but I'd like to ask you a question. Stats for Radek Stepanek? I was thinking:

10/5/5(SV/OB/DB)
Coach: Mathew Grody
Skills: Diesel Hard Hitter, Volley Shot Artist

FH: 70
BH: 60
SRV: 73
VOL: 71
PWR: 66
STA: 65
SPE: 64
REF: 71.

Any other ideas? I have a few other ones though that one is what I think the best one is so far.

Others are:

10/5/5(SV/OB/DB)
Coach: Magnus Golgolja
Skills: Amazing First Volley, Approach Shot Expert

FH: 60
BH: 60
SRV: 85
VOL: 72
PWR: 55
STA: 65
SPE: 77
REF: 71.

or

10/5/5(SV/OB/DB)
Coach: Paval Dhouly
Skills: Shot Counter, Return Serve Counter

FH: 71
BH: 64
SRV: 77
VOL: 64
PWR: 69
STA: 60
SPE: 66
REF: 79.

Radek Stepanek's forehand is generally known as his weaker wing so you might want to put more into the backhand instead.

You should take the coach that gives him 'Reach Chicks Expert' and 'Spectacular Celebrations' though.

Ah ok. That's easily changed ;)

Which one of those 3 should I pick?(mind I can change forehand and backhand to suit).

And tomvbs - I wish we had those :P

how are people here doing online and especially on the ITST tour playing serve volley? I just find it impossible to win ANY matches when playing serve volley. The opponents can get to 75% of my volleys and after 2 or 3 shots they keep passing me. It's almost impossible for me to kill off volleys. And during rallies it's also almost imposible to chip and charge. I really wanna keep playing serve volley but if it's impossible to win against all these TI/MD power hitters eventually the fun will wear off I'm afraid.

I was doing OK before the patch, now I can't serve for shit. So I'm a S/*#$&@ player now, and not really enjoying playing this style.
