Move? I'd rather stand here

Postby cullay » Sat, 19 Mar 2011 21:48

I want to throw the controller (not really lol) at the screen when my player just stands there in the alley after retrieving an out-wide shot. It's absolutely ridiculous. He just hops there like he thinks he's in the center of the court. I honestly think it's a glitch. Like the system doesn't differentiate between the outside lines and the center line so after you're running back into the court, he just stops. Whatever the case, it's going to be the one thing that kills this otherwise amazing game.

i think it's lag in the netcode. i have played several matches where this happens and it makes the game almost unplayable. it must be lag, because i have also had several matches where my character moves freely from side to side. hopefully they will patch this or throw in a lag meter so we dont have to try and slug our way through these matches.

I agree, this is the single worst thing that is ruining the balance between serving and returning. I come up with a great cross court control top spin return, only to have it wasted because my opponent hits a power shot down the line and I'm still standing over in the alley no matter what I do.

The best solution I've found is instead of immediately pushing towards the direction you want to go, push either down and towards that direction or even almost straight down. It helps a little and gives you a little bit more time, but it does leave you open to a sharp angle cross court.

I think it could be patched, though I'm not sure it would be simple to do. The player's reactions are likely pretty complicated code. They would need to be careful not to overdo it and have the movement turn out like Virtua Tennis.

No I use a Translater for some Vocabularies but I don't copy and paste pure from a Google Translater.

I am not born in the US or in england so I have the right to write some things not perfect.

I only had 5 Years english in School you know. ^^

Nothing wrong with it if he was lol. I like reading sentences made by someone who doesn't naturally speak english, it jsut to the point, gets rid of all those words that make it flow but not needed.

But yeah in some games if have enough lag it happens, it very odd. I'm not sure people should rely on patching tbh.

oh it's not okay for me to make an innocent joke about his poor grammar but it's okay for him to tell me "Hello! Wake up!....Accept it so long you still can," which i'm assuming goes to mean "accept it if you can". whatever...

obviously i'm joking again. i didn't realize everyone on here was so uptight.

joke!

Sorry it's just that a lot of people here don't speak English as their first language, so you're gonna get totally lambasted with hate if you make fun of them  Just letting you know.

i think you're right. i played an exhibition against the computer on very hard and i would never get stuck in the alleys. it only happens online. still, i hope they're able to fix it.
