What are you Cheesers gonna do without your RISK-SHOT?

Well, from my very brief online career in TS3 (damn you, slow crappy internet connection), I would have consider my self a pretty decent player. I would often used the risk shot in TS3, but not so frequently as to use it on every shot. I used it as it was intended to be used in my opinion. Since a successful risk shot depended on position and timing, of coarse it required skill. But once you got the technique down, I guess a fair bit of the risk was taken out of the shots.

At first, I was a little apprehensive when I heard that they took out the risk shots, but after playing the demo, I think they game plays fantastic without it. Now from being glued to the TS4 demo (can't wait to pick it up tomorrow), I think the gameplay is fantastic. I've been holding the button and releasing for all my shots, to try and get the most power out of them.
But for the last few games, I've been experimenting with the control shots and I'm gonna tell you now that we're going to see this targon guy on here in the not so distant future complaining about "cheesers" abusing the control shot system.

It only took a few games for me to get the timing perfect for nearly every control shot, and with correct position and timing, you can get nearly as much power as you can get using a power shot, whilst cleaning the lines nearly every time. These "cheesers" won't have any problem dominating TS4, targon.

Oh, this is my first post here. Love the forum guys. See you all on the court. :D

Like I said the Cheesers will try to hate on me because I keep it real. Sure the cheesers would like for me to say that TS3 was the perfect tennis sim without faults or flaws. Sorry but that would be disinginuious and a lie. I notice the people that seem to disagree with my post the most are the people that live for this forum (i.e. moderators, benefactors etc..) I can tell my post rang with truth and stuck a nerve in the cheesers because they choose to attack me personally. Comments about my personality and my outlook on life. (They dont know me from Jack..) When a person resorts to personal attacks instead of attacking your arguement, they have lost the arguement. Please, keep saying "Im Insane" or im an "Arrogant Prick". This only shows the rest of the forum what your really about. Truth is you cheesers got TS3 stuffed so far up your butts you've lost all objectivity. I guess the other posters who were happy to see the risk-shot removed from the game are all also "Insane". Yes your right, your opinion is the only correct opinion and all other opposing opinions must be "Insane". Gosh, what was I thinking?...

I'm so glad you are here targon, you have saved me from my non risking style which according to you is cheesers because you said we all were.

I don't know what my life would have been like if you weren't here. Thank the world.

I tried but I can't believe a word I just typed. Truth is only you believe what you are writing while everybody else doesn't? Have you ever thought you might be wrong????

Furthermore, if someone responds to your arguments the they are hating on you and they are cheesers??

Seems you are deflectin and really not answering, oh and that's what someone does when they are about to lose an argument

@targon12:
Your postings are a pain to read, please try using the return and/or space button of your keyboard more often.

Don't know yet what to think about the lack of risk shots.
I mean in the first Top Spin game I was as much a risk monkey as most others and had fun with those crazy risk on risk rallies. It was simply that easy, but players as Norberto still dominated, because they knew how to perfectly place those shots.

I don't even remember TS 2 all that well anymore, but still heavily relied on those trigger shots IIRC.

I also tried using them as much as possible in TS 3, but was pretty bad at it, especially at using the risk return, which was damn frustrating, since I'd rather lose after a rally than by mishitting a return, no matter how realistic that might be.
Considering how powerful regular groundies could be, the normal risk shot wasn't that important anymore anways. That's at least my impression.

No it's true. I've been around the US and people are weird as f**k here.

If I really had the means to live somewhere else besides CA right now, I would. I wouldn't even mind living in Kentucky for a little while!

Although I bet your laws (about almost anything) are more strict out there.

Its all relative, no more so than in Kentucky except maybe west VA!

Anyway i think the targon Guy is basically saying if there is something that can be exploited to someone's advantage they will exploit it. Seems pretty basic to me and true. If you could risk well in TS3, then u definitely had an advantage! As someone who didn't know how to risk great, I can attest to this. The only option I had was to try and adjust. As far as if risking was cheesy, well that's up to each person's opinion. I do feel it was exploitable and at times unrealistic.
