Yeah, I've been trying to serve and volley and I've yet to volley before the ball bounces. I'd have to do a half-volley every time. Maybe it'll get better when the game comes out and explain a bit more. hopefully?

I do like the drop volleys however. They seem to require to master a bit of "touch" to be effective.

You need "Excellent first volley" skill and a good enough volley rating.

Roger is not build like a SV guy, he can do it part time, behind good serves, but not on regular basis.

That's a good point. I guess I haven't really been aggressive with my serve on account of it being the demo and trying to play a rope a dope style to make the tie-break last longer.

try slower serves. Also one of the ratings, either volley or reflex, mans you move to the net faster and fed isn't exceptional in either.
