Maybe returning from inside the court and serving from tramlines. But against AI it is not a good test.

Well just because you find something that makes the game easier doesn't mean it's 'cheesy'.

The only things I've ever found cheesy are things that seem to completely violate the otherwise consistent physics of the game...like the infamous "Empty momentum bar slice" from TS2 (if you hit the Momentum slice shot when you had no bar built up, it would hit this slice that just barely cleared the service line in the dead center of the court every time, no matter where you were) and the inside the baseline returning in TS3. Other than that I don't think we should consider 'banning' things simply because they're really effective.

Serving from the tramlines has been ultra-effective in every tennis game I've ever played. I remember thinking I was a genius for 'discovering' that back on Pete Sampras' tennis for Genesis.

I`ll play an exhibtion as Djokovic against Sampras, then I`ll probably test some of the other legends like Lendl and Agassi. Then it`s time for school 8)

I'll probably do everything in the same order I usually do:

1) Read through the manual first (I always enjoy doing this for some reason when I buy a new video game).

2) Play through the tutorials.

3) Get through the career mode as quickly as possible

4) Play tons of matches online.

I hope I can get to 4 the first day :D

I don't understand how everyone here says it's easy. Slice and kick serve work well but I can't a single big flat serve with any character. It's frustrating and even keeping me from enjoying the demo.

Have you tried not worrying about aiming?? Just try to get the right stick motion correct.

You really can't just move it down to up?? That's all a flat serve is.

With Nadal you flick the stick and wait for the ball to drop a little before pushing forward, Federer you flick it back then basically immediately flick it forward.

For some reason I find it hard to flick it straight up. On half of my attempts I end up with up-left or up-right which gives a slice or topspin serve. On the other half I even hit a weak ball into the net.

In TS3, you need to make a half circle to hit a slice or kick serve. That's not the case anymore. I find it easier to miss-hit a flat serve than in TS3.

EDIT: Ok it seems like I finally found a good technique. Taking my thumb off the stick for half a second and thén flicking it forward seems to do the job.

Time to discover how great the total gameplay actually is
