I think that all skills speak for themselves. "Diesel" -something means he'll play better as the game/rally/match advance. "Fatality" should be the ability to hit a definitive winner under certain circumstances.
I think i even noticed some of them while playing. Especially the "shot counter" with federer and nadal, sometimes you hit a very fast and strong ball out of nowhere while beeing pushed by the cpu. So these skills look to work!
I am eager to know more about "smell of blood" though...
it might be a skill well suited for me 
I wonder if some skills have drawbacks? "Highly flammable" for exemple would be that you can get mentally super strong and improve the shots but you can also rot in your own fire of anger
