"Marathonman"

Postby Moralspain » Sat, 05 Feb 2011 22:06

Stefaan Engels, asthma sufferer from Belgium, has just set a new record, after running 365 marathons in 1 year, one every day of the year, last one today in Barcelona. (15.401 km, 6000 calories a day, 15 kg lost, 25 pairs of running shoes used)

I'm thinking that's impossible. Who hosts a marathon, for example, on a Wednesday, or Tuesday, or Thursday???

Guy's full of shit. Probably lying about the asthma too. :)

pretty astonishing stuff - you all heard of Eddie Izzard? English comedian/actor....very funny man, talented actor too!! His feat is less impressive and only slightly less jaw-dropping.....prepared for 5 weeks, then did 43 marathons over the course of 51 days.....

lol!!! fair enough - hard to speak for everyone though - you say 'a record no-one wants'....seems quite sweeping. take your point in the relative pointlessness of it...or perhaps records in general?

i like dvd's

The record would be "Days in a row running a marathon". My guess is there are others out there who have attempted similar feats, but maybe never shot for as long of a streak.
