Lol...wondered if anyone experienced anything though. I didn't buy it yet. Because the xbox360 had many problems in the beginning too.

sorry man, just attempting a little humour...some of the subjects have been a little heavy today (my doing, of course and i accept it!) - i haven't gotten a Kinect yet - willdo in the next month or two and let you know.

i believe the official line is that the connection between RROD event and Kinect is coincidental and i'd be inclined to largely agree.

The RROD seems to be caused by poor conductance between the GPU in the 360 and the heat-sink it's poorly bonded to - i repaired my original 360 by 'cooking' the heatsink off, then cleaning the small amount of old conductant stuff off, re-applying - only this time using the correct amount (they used too little basically), clamping and indeed bob was my uncle.

I suppose the Kinect may put extra load on the graphics chip...and if so, there's scope for an argument that says the device increases the likelihood of the event. All of that being said, you'd hope that the more recent batches of 360 would have corrected this fabrication problem and negated the chance? Perhaps 360's suffering supposed Kinect-related RROD events are older models that were poorly made.....anyone?

Yeah my Xbox is now about 4 years old. I ad 3 other ones that had RROD.
So honestly a little scared buying the Kinect.

Specially as Microsoft is denying yet again that their own product is not the cause like in the beginning when the xbox360 came out.

hmmmm......they (MS) were offering to replace RROD machines at one point weren't they? Everyone now knows it was poor fabrication/assembly re the bonding of GPU to heatsink that caused the problem....

Does anyone know what their present policy re RROD devices is?

In the beginning they didn't. Only at a later point they did....

hmm. I guess my feeling on it would be that if the 360 is going to red-ring, it's going to happen - adding the Kinect will (may) just make it happen sooner....assuming it puts extra load on the GPU, which it will, but significant enough to knacker it.....hmmmmm.......not so sure.....

I honestly have no desire to play games with my body. A remote control has been working great for like 20 years now for me.

I have the Kinect. So far, so good.

Not sure if my old, original 360 is heading toward the red rings cause it's been sent to the repair shop four times. At this point, not sure what the hell is inside my 360. Could be anything.

Me? Absolutely nothing. It's a toy for my kids (dancing, sports & adventures).

Video games were meant to be played with a bowl of potato chips balancing on your chest. Not sure I'll ever Kinect.

BTW Anil, your thoughts about TS4? :)

I am not sure what to think..

They really tried to make a tennis sim. And it was a good try for TS3. But they didn't succeed.

TS3 looks like a tennis sim in the replay but playing it doesn't really feel like it for me.
I don't thhink TS4 will be any different.

They need to sell the game so it in the ranked matches we'll play with setups thathave nothing to do with tennis either.

But on the other hand happy a new tennis game is coming. TS3 is not bad at all but many flaws hope TS4 will be way better.
