sorry to rain on your parade guys but why don't you 1st decide what type of player is need on the SIM roster? otherwise this is gonna be a completely mess, once you decide that you can start posting stats.

In my opinion the it's perfect, we have all courters, baseline players, serve&volley..... with different weights, heights..... what else do you need?, if you want we could change the names to make them look like new guys, it's an option.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

I agree with Xavi.

The players offered so far before are EXACTLY what I meant. They are basically versions of "your" players....players that you want to use. Which is fine, but they have to be unique enough and balance to justify the addition.

Villa, your player will be too good for SIM. There is a reason why we made SV guys mostly slow. Serve+Speed+Volley is too good of the combination. It will not reflect the current state of ATP.

synesthesia70, your second offer is interesting, I think height makes this setup work, but, once again, where is the weakness? Serve and return are simply irrelevant on their own as a weakness, because there are no second serves and risk return makes up for lack of rating. So the player must have a clear attackable weakness in other categories.

Lets decide what is missing right now from the roster, and then will add it. Be as drastic as you can.....no such thing as "stupid idea". We will explore everything.

errrm say for example House, he has a single handed backhand. also, his serve is serve motion B. he is left handed. This say would be "the character" and cannot change this. I think this would make them more like the in game pro's, eg you can't change berdych's serve, for example. It might some of the more popular players trickier to use, i think. Im not sure whether bh/fh stats should be reversible, or if certain stroke motions should be used, i think they would be pretty hard to tell anyway in game.

I understand your point, but that's a terrible idea.

With those kinds of restrictions, might as well just make a separate all pro tour.

Honestly, that was my wish from day one of SIM Roster idea. But we bailed out because of what emate said and because a strong opposition at that time from certain members of not wanted so much "control" from ITST.

Original idea was not only to create roster like we have now, but also dictate things like:

- Lefty or righty
- Serve motion
- Single or double handed
- Which wing is the strong one

My thinking was that we would take a Big Server and give him a motion that is less popular and harder to master then serve A. We would make certain players use their low stats as a single handed BH, thus making it a more attackable side.

We nixed fast the idea of setting a stroke motion as there is just no real safe way to identify them. (most of them)

I think Bashmakov's power ought to be lower, or his wings and return ought to REALLY suck or something to make him less 40/90 style because 60% of people on ITST just hold down LT+RT and hit A so the weak wings aren't really holding him back.
Norberto H or bust.

That would be fantastic, it would be much more realistic.
Cannon with 1bh and 87 stats, and borg´s motion service for example would be a diferent player for me.
