After I handed my ass to Djarvik (4-6 2-6, I was up a break in the 1st set ) the other day, today I faced the reigning world No.1.

First we played a full match on hard. He totally demolished in the 1st set. I think I won 3 out of the first 25 points or something like that. Got broken at love in my 1st service game, and almost got bagled (30-40 0-5). Basically I could not do anything to win a point. And it's so frustrating because I was totally outplayed in rallies, which happen to be my self-claimed strongest suit.

He has this nasty one single-handed backhand, he can hit mean short crosscourt angle and can go down the line. I started to hit more backhand down the line and mix dropshot/lob. I think his form dropped a little bit in the next two sets. They were still intense, but I won the important points.
1-6 6-3 6-2

Then we played another set on grass. I experienced the Rob-certified serve and volley. It's almost impossible to pass, but I played a decent return game and won 6-4.

I am pretty happy with my form. I thought about giving up Bucci, because he can't serve, he can't hit a proper forehand and all he can do is run, which is useless when you are playing top guns.

Maybe it helps in long matches because Baghdad was already in red early in the 2nd set and I turned red ONCE in the whole match and it was like the penultimate point.

I think maybe I should give him another shot, I am too lazy to try new players anyway.

i played some more with striker today. i THINK, that if i can learn to serve effectively enough to get to net quick enough i'll have a chance. In rallies i have to go for shots as after 6-7 shots i don't have enough speed. That being said he has more power than a lot of sim players, like old bashmakov.

Sorry to everyone who invited me to a match tonight.
Usually I don't care much about WT matches, but if you see me stay in WT matchs and don't join you right away, the reason is probably these guys are using cheesy tactics or abuse the game, and I am teaching them a lesson. :D

I just had a superb sim match with Emate. It was Jansen (me) against Bishop (Emate).
He won 7-6 6-7 7-6 with the final tiebreak ending 11-9. There were no breaks in the match but both of us had opportunities. Great mix ups and both players wanting to attack and come in as much as possible. I s&v'ed on every point on my serve and I'm quite happy to not get broken against Bishop's 81 return in such a long match.

Yeah, that was awesome! I came to realize that if I didn't hit either a fantastic or horrible return (which gives me problems as well when I serve/volley) I had no chance after your first volley. Really intense finish, don't know how I got that mini-break back.
Remarkable match, I checked the total points and it was 130 for me and 131 for you.

was able to play 2 matches last night. first one was verse emate. I think the score was 6-4, 6-3. Both times i broke were due to missed volleys that if he had the chance he would make them again. it would have been really tight in the tiebreak, but it was a fun match. I was using lopez and emate was using bucci.

Next match was verse samL64. Havent played this guy in awhile and i forgot how well he can hit the power shots. Had some really powerful rallies with this guy, it was some solid baseline play. I won 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 If he could keep up what he did in the first set, then he would be very tough.

Played Puttuu again and he won 4-6 7-6 7-6. I had 2 match points in the 2nd set tiebreak and 1 in the 3rd set but couldn't convert. It was a great match though with some awesome rallies 8)

Someone knows if there is a "BOAT League"?...
I lost at the 1st round of Reg MonteCarlo...And as i have to play Norby at the 1st round of the Sim MonteCarlo,i won't have a lot of matchs to play...
And i have to play some if i don't want to see my TS3 going to that strange place where my good ol' video games are : gathering the dust! :(
So i do need some B.O.A.T. League, for the Baddest Of All Time players like me!
I challenge anyone in a mini tourney where only the loosers of first rounds are allowed...Those who have REAL skills!

Hey strangers!

Right nothing fancy here or long winded but my match with Emate a couple of months back has been emulated - Illuv and I smashed the backside out of topspin in our SIM match

Only played a handful of matches in the last month & its a breath of fresh air to play someone, at a high level, who doesn't risk the goodness out of a tennis ball - good on you kidda, keep it up.

End score Baghdad vs Illuv 6-3 6-7 6-7

Peace

Technically not an exhibition match (first round of China Open) - played Didine again (we seem to get drawn against each other often in the first round) - amazingly awesomely close match - i narrowly won, 2-0, both sets decided by tie-break.

Can't get enough of playing TS3 with Didine - even to play and lose is ok, because it's great tennis that demands adjustment of tactic, and thought and strategy, and doesn't rely on risk-returns etc.

fantastic Didine and thank you again - looking forward to out next match - outcome-independant!!!!

vous êtes un champion du grand jeu de mon ami!
