Only PS3??

I have SF4 on 360...I'm not great since I really don't like it anywhere near as much as SF2, but I'm still decent enough to beat most non-experts, simply based on my SF2 skills.

I am fairly obsessed with SF2, it is the single greatest fighting game series ever made, and Hyper Fighting is the magnum opus of that series. I play it almost every single day, play it on online somtimes (even though precious few people play it, but they're all good), but most of the time I just practice against the uber-cheap 7-star difficulty level CPU

Anyways I'd be glad to fight you on 360 if you have it.

Only have a PS3 :(

I haven't played any SF games since SSF2 Turbo on the Snes, until now playing SF4. To me SF4 is great as they kept it like classic SF2. The added super / ultra moves / focus attacks are cool too, not over the top and is a good addition to the gameplay.

Do you have Super SF4 as well Jaylove? Is it worth getting? I'm not bothered for the new characters on SSF4, but keen if there is significant online improvement.

Honestly, I am so old-school that I never even got into SSF2T   I played a lot of 'World Warrior' (the original SF2) when I was very young because my best friend had it on SNES and I lived really close to an arcade that had SF2. I remember getting a 6-button arcade joystick for Christmas one year, so I could play SF2: Champion Edition on Genesis without having to press 'Start' to switch between punches and kicks  How lame is that, having to press Start because the Genesis (megadrive) controller only had 3 buttons

I think the new Ultra Combos and Focus Attacks are cool and seem well-implemented, but honestly the old-school style of SF2 playing (no super combo meter) is so ingrained in my head that I will never be able to master those things...I seriously don't even use Ultra Combos when playing people online, because many of them require pressing 3 buttons at the same time, which is really hard unless you have an Arcade-style joystick. Also, the new characters really throw me off. I'm totally unfamiliar with their moves and too lazy to learn how to counter them. Abel and Rufus really throw me for a loop, I have no idea WTF people are doing with them most of the time, or how to defend it

I haven't even played SSF4 so I can't comment at all on it.

Bet you're a good player! Who do you 'main' with? Haha I've been getting into SF lingo recently. There're are unreal matches on youtube, especially from Daigo! I didn't realise how tactical SF2 could get, like a chess game

On PS3, the left shoulder buttons are assigned as pressing 3 punch (L1) or 3 kick (L2) buttons, so you don't have to literally have to press 3 buttons at once, just L1 or L2.

Characters I use are:

1 - Ryu (Main guy :))
2 - Balrog (Boxer)
3 - Honda
4 - Guile

I like to mix in all of them really, but not spent much time with the new guys except Akuma.

Yeah there is a whole universe of lingo to get into with SF

Daigo is a great player, watched a ton of his matches. Youtube DAIGO VS. CHOI...like I said I never even got into SSF2T, but Daigo's Boxer in this match is one of the sickest things I've ever seen. Wish I could play HF/SSF2 Balrog like him, he makes him look so unbelievably brutal, but when I play with him, it's pathetic  The real 'legend' of SF2 is a guy named Tomo Ohira...look him up, his early 90's SF2 tournament results are seriously the stuff of legends, he is LITERALLY a god among SF2 players.

I 'main' Ken in Hyper Fighting. I basically don't even bother with the other characters; I've played only Ken and Ryu ever since the first SF2 came out.

I know that you can press the shoulder button for a 3x strike, but for Ken...the way I have my controls set up, the 3x punch button is LB, and that's incredibly awkward to press the LB for a combo, I don't know how to explain it...

I seriously hardly ever play SF4 but I use Ken, Bison, and Guile.

Yep, that's it :D

The way he comes back at 0:34 is amazing.

I love how you hear Boxer's 'HOOO-WAAAHH!!!!' like every 2 seconds

SF2 is such a great game to me because there are seriously no rules, NOTHING is cheap or 'forbidden' like TS3 :P The goal is simply to WIN, no matter how you do it.

Obviously you were in a parallel universe. One where Edberg doesn't completely pwn your ass. That's the only logical explanation for your alleged 'Hit on Edberg'. You were simply astral projecting and happened to stumble upon a ruggedly handsome Swedish tennis expert who hoodwinked you into thinking he was a legend, when he was merely an imposter. His CPU was a neural net processor...a learning computer.

WTF am I talking about.

How dare you other SF players challenge me with your primitive skills. You're just as good as dead!
