he is looking pretty good if you ask me....and id say 138mph serve is pretty big tied for 5th fastest serve of the tournament....and has much better strokes than roddick...only real big weakness is the return....give me a break the guy just turned 18....so of course he will be average at this point

You said nice hands at net - no, he comes to finish, like 99% of players do now, hardly good hands.

Big serve - no, sure he can generate pace, but placement is horrid and consistency is not there. Second serve is more then vulnerable.

Good strokes, when he pushes the ball and defends, maybe. But he misses a nice amount when going for it.

Yes, I know he is 18, and I'd be happy to have him up there with the big boys, but I have seen PLENTY of more talented 17, 18 year olds that done absolutely nothing. This one has much less talent....hopefully he at least has the determination.

i think thats what this game is about....really focusing and being able to keep your head on straight....consistency will win matches....but, honing in on the talent that you do have will get you further one day with the addition of consistency....i hope this guy does well...seems like a good kid

agree.

That's my issue with him. He lacks both, talent and consistency. That is a deadly combination that assures mediocracy.

I was sitting in lodge box, behind the baseline, so too far from action ....otherwise this guy would be eating a straight right. Just hate kids with big mouth, too many teeth, I recon with a few less he would keep quite.
