EDIT 99.9%outwide serve

Postby Apathetically » Fri, 13 Aug 2010 09:58

an absolute joke, please ban this guy, he should be confined to world tour hall of fame, anyone who's played him should know the score, no talent whatsoever as evident in 90/90 fh bh with little rallies won.

i love threads like this. we should start an "annoying to play, annoying to schedule with, annoying dropshotter, annoying 100% risk returner & annoying 99% slice outwide server". I already have a few names in mind.

i was thinking, is he really going to do this for the whole match halfway through the 1st set ? even on the 2 consecutive bp's in both sets, he did it. surely even the most abusive don't do this, i've never played anyone like this in itst, MAYBE ever lol. maybe i'm not gd enough to counter this 99.9% i'll move on.....

outwide the whole time   i know some players who serve outwide the whole time not gonna say names  with people that serve outwide the whole time you have to trail and double trigger is the only way to win the point, if you timed an excellent l2 shot you couldve hit a double risk 8) but ya you must risk return there serve only way to survive
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm :P

but i don't think i can 'survive' on double risks 99.9 % of the time, not consistency but ethics 8) anyways he may have thrown in 1 serve dtl 1-2 times per set at 40-0/15...just to show his fairness and variety.

I agree with tonedawg, the only way to counter the wide serves is anticipate by positioning your player to smash back a Double Trigger return.

Many players do this actually..

I just wonder why someone would want to play that way. Must be really boring. I understand if its towards the end of the match/tiebreaks/whatever and you're nervous, but the whole match ?

Its probably not the most productive thing to call someone out personally on the forum to begin with... sometimes the discussion can lead to individuals addressing themselves directly but to start out that way is not the best idea IMO. Unless you have tried to directly contact the person about your concern previously.

I think its better to talk about aspects of TS3 that a person finds problematic. Like, outwide serves being so unrealisticly effective. Or how a player can have only 40 in speed but still be very fast. Or how even with 90 in endurance a player will still get tired. Or how increasing your serve stat from 50 to 80 only results in a 7 MPH faster serve when using the buttons...
