First Time Ever - No Man In The Top 10

Postby fedfan » Sat, 07 Aug 2010 13:54

Next week for the first time since computer rankings were started 37 years ago there will be no American player in the ATP Top 10. Where are the next stars going to come from and surely this will damage tennis in general in terms of sponsors if no big new stars start breaking through.

wow, that's incredible, but this is like the economy, a recession is always follow by an expansion, i'm sure good things are coming for the US in the future.

Can't see Querry being very marketable though to Americans but you would know better than me, Isner maybe though. Don't know of any new male or female Americans being touted as No.1's or GS Champions though.

Querrey is kind of a goofy guy, but I like him overall. Maybe it´s the SoCal connection, but he seems like a fun guy. Isner could be a marketing powerhouse given his looks/charisma/imposing figure But like you said, I don´t think either of them will win a GS.

hey man what a first round for Nalbandian!!, he's playing against Ferrer, that being said if he beats him that would be a major boost for the rest of the tourney

Fingers crossed he can stay fit, I would have thought Ferrer would be a good match up for him.
