The Yanks were robbed a number of times, yet are still alive. Props to them for surviving matches officiated by blind/incompetent (i.e. seemingly biased) referees.

These things happen in football, look what happened to Ireland!

I wasnt saying the Yanks didnt do well to get there, im just saying i think they play boring football, and if Slovenia had been a bit more composed they would have won 3-1 against USA, i remember like 4 sitters when it was 2-1

This is my first time full-on exposure to football, and I gotta say, I'm hugely disappointed in the sportsmanship. Nearly everyone who gets touched (or almost touched) by an opposing player falls to the ground - wriggling in pain, feigning injury. Yes, the same thing happens in mainstream American sports, but not to this extent. The players should be wearing skirts - and bows in their hair.

I just watched the Slovenia-England match in a CROWDED room full of Slovenians and British. Was **** insane.... There was no update on the US match at all throughout, and I gave up all hope when a slovenian kid ran in at the end and gave a 0-0 update.

Just went to check the germany group details and saw that Donovan scored at the end, HOLY SHIT!

I was incredibly pissed hearing the 'fake/incomplete' bad news after watching a room full of rooney jerseys celebrate their win. England was certainly the better team in this game, but I'm ecstatic the US came through after being robbed v. slovenia.

100% correct.

I like soccer, but I immediately lose respect for any team that pulls this kind of BS. More so if it's repeated over and over, and especially so if it's the team strategy.
Argentina is the only team I've seen that doesn't cry and fall over when somebody farts in their vicinity, but I only saw their last game. They probably did it when they weren't dominating?

It's gonna be ENGLAND v GERMANY. One of the biggest football rivalries ever.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. That **** first match cost us :(. Should've got 2nd but we had to get a red card. The coach didn't trust us in first match so we didn't play our game and germany punished us for to be frank playing crap. Oh well lots of what ifs.

USA WINS!!!

USA ADVANCES TO THE KNOCKOUT STAGE!!!

If we win the entire thing, we're forcing the rest of you guys to call it 'soccer' for the next 4 years. Just a little heads up.

It's special with this World Cup though. The referees tend to give yellow/red cards for nothing this time and this makes players exaggerated every contact hoping the referee will penalize the opponent. Kind of a vicious circle. And Argentina is definitely not better. Just see Messi and how everyone (especially Maradona) starts whining when someone touches him.

Btw, I checked the fifa.com page and found this video:

http://de.fifa.com/worldcup/bestmove/vi ... index.html

Didn't know that Turkey was capable of it, especially against Brazil :P

Messi does get it rough though. He not exactly a diver but he would be in perfect position to dive a lot more. Also saw the first aussie dive, well half dive did get hit in face but exaggerated it.

How far do you guys reckon italy could dive/defend their way in this world cup.
