NBA 2K10 Great; Song "One Day," Even Better

Postby Cro Morgan » Fri, 02 Apr 2010 00:58

As a fan of tennis, hockey and baseball, I wasn't that excited when I received NBA 2K10 as a gift. Must say, the game is a shitload of fun! A near-perfect game - especially when it comes to the amping of the fun-factor (in the end, seriously, what else matters?????)

On a related note...

Never heard of the singer Matisyahu before playing NBA 2K10. His song "One Day" is featured on the sound track. Great tune. Even better message.

If you're not familiar with the song...

Buy the game.

You're right, that song is awesome! :)

I lost interest in basketball a few years ago, so I think the last NBA games I played were 2K8 and Live 08 (very briefly). Perhaps I'll check NBA 2K10 out, though.

I have Live 08- really fun game. I haven't followed b-ball since MJ was playing but I've always loved b-ball games, it just seems to be a sport that translates really well to video games. Cro have you ever played any NBA Live games? Any major differences in the 2K games...? Usually they're more 'arcadey'.

Since we're on the topic of basketball I gotta recommend that you all buy this video: http://www.amazon.com/dp/6301562909/?ta ... yofnuts-20

'NBA Superstars' is pretty much the greatest sports highlight video I've ever seen (and I have a lot of highlights and blooper tapes on VHS...seems to be a genre of videos that died out with DVD's). Awesome mid-late 80's basketball action with the likes of MJ, Magic, Olajuwon, Barkley, Bird, etc...with often-cheesy but awesome music. Buy it

This is the first basketball game I have owned since "Lakers vs. Celtics and the NBA Playoffs." (I'm betting the guy who named that game was later canned). Haven't played any of the NBA Live games.

NBA 2K10 is not arcadey - just pure fun - and I pretty much hate real basketball. They get the big things right (monster jams, slick moves) and the small (player animations away from the action, etc.) Even the team mascots are fun to watch. :P

Yeah, 2K games tend to be more on the sim side, while Live games are more arcadey. It's pretty much like Top Spin vs. Virtua Tennis.

I always thought NBA Live was the SIM one, i have the NBA Live 08 and the 2K9, and in my opinion the dunks in 2k9 are unrealistic, truth is that i´ve never seen a NBA match in live so maybe that´s the way they should be  , but anyway both games are very good.

Off-topic:Talking about EA sports i hope Grand Slam tennis comes to light soon although as you all know the release for the xbox and ps3 consoles has been 'postponed indefinitely'
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
