Except that i think that here,on a "planet time" ( :? ),months can rather be hundreds of decades...
-But that's only what i believe,i'm not an expert at all...You could be 200% true slicy ;)

Edit : "2012 end of the world believers" I never heard of this...I find this as ridiculous as...a son of a god giving a visit to us... 8)

lol, im no expert at all either. Just voicing my own opinion as are you. And when your voicing your opinion you can never be wrong. Ignorant perhaps (like this son of a god believers ;)) but never wrong.

Anyway, your right. In planet time it would be decades difference. But what are decades when your talking about the earth? The earth is million of years old. We can only stretch our own existence but mankind clearly shows no interest in this.

Thus I agree with your first point as well. Just a small example: water bottles. If you drink tap water it costs you about 0.003 euro a bottle. Water bottles bought in the store cost you about 1,50 euro if your lucky. Investigation has shown that the water in these water bottles are usually from the same source as tap water.

On top of that you need oil to produce plastic. Not a product we could easily waste.

So when i had to travel a lot a few months ago i bought 1 water bottle and used it for several months. No problems there. Water bottles do not loose strength, are easy to clean and pick up no odors. But when i addressed people nobody agreed with me.

Its more expensive
Wastes one of our most valuable resources
Plastic is bad for the environment because it degrades slowly
There is no disadvantage of using a bottle longer

If people cant even change their lifestyle after hearing such convincing statements then its never going to happen.

all what humans do ,are small steps. like no plastic - or sorting the trash .
companies must do some.like no oil in oceans - no poissen in river from factorys !!
reduce the industrie and car gases no fire up gases and poisin stuff to the atmosphere .
and at all the gouverment ....NO NUCLEAR TESTS or to safe ATOMAR exidents !!

as long atomic tests start in pazifik or elsewhere -our "safe the world "menthality in small steps " will have not much success !!

at all nobody knows exactly what happens in future !!

BTW: right now i really hate that my specific english vocabular is not good enough to bring in my full thoughts in this discuss

I'm probably one of the few people who believes man could last for millions of years. We just have to make it a little bit longer, and we'll be able to just move and find other planets to ruin.

I do like Slicer's story about the water bottles, and it's something I've been doing for years. I calculated that refilling them with filtered water , and replacing the bottle weekly costs about 11¢ per 20oz bottle.

this idear comes to my mind where i saw in past " white squall " with patrick swayze (hope thats the right english title? i mean that movie where he played a guy who makes bankrobberys with his surfer friends as presidents)
he waitet for a "perfect wave " AT END
so i thought , hey the end of world sounds perfect to me to bring this plan into reality -a good time to find the perfect wave full of adrenalin
i was joking
lets hope the earth never goes down
by the way "white squall" was a awesome movie .
