I feel so great because I could not believe my eyes when I hit these shots. Some of them were hit when I was on the run.

Yes, i had the same experiecne with Bucci against Swifty. I used LT much more as ever before or after, but even when running, Bucci is able to hit the shots with great angle or power.

Maybe it s because of his physic? He is almost 6ft3 (190 cm) but weights just 66 kg.

Just played snowflake on WT. I used bucci and him his 90 40 player.

I lost 4-3, 4-2. we then played a 90 40 match and i was able to win 7-6, 6-3, he played me that close and it was only his first match, well second after his 2 year break. he must have been a nightmare when he was at his peak

and he just told me he was playing for ****

That was done during TSL's spam assault. Probably no need for it now.

Played joesixtoe for the 1st time ever and beat him 6-1, 6-0

:P haha sooo jk, I lost 4-6 4-6, but it was a good match for sure, we had some good rallies, but for a while I don't think I won a single point on his serve for like 3 or 4 (maybe even 5) games in a row....it was kinda crazy but I just blocked it out of my mind on my service games....made a few dumb decisions (like deciding that break points against me are the best possible time to try out a super-difficult half-volley extreme-angle double-risk), he got the break in both sets, and that was that, I really just couldn't figure out how to get in any rallies on his serve. Good match though, definitely one of the toughest players I've played, and he's convinced me I need to find a new SIM character, Lopez just doesn't suit me...

He was. He had a record of 50-4, something like that.

Joe is always a lot of fun to play against coz his style allows for a lot of entertaining rallies. I played a set against him last night which he won 7-6 but twas really great stuff. At one point he came up with an outrageous backhand dtl winner on the run. I had just played a pretty mean angle too before that to set up what I thought would be for sure a forced error from him but Joe had other ideas

I met Snowflake in wt tonight and just about managed to squeeze by him 4-3 3-4 10-6. You can tell he is only getting used to playing topspin again as his returns were off for the most part but amazing to think he is still this good when rusty

Nakamura - Bishop

Postby TomBs » Fri, 19 Feb 2010 02:03

On a hot summer night the tennis fans were gathering around the center court of Roland Garros for what they hoped would become a classic match between two old rivals: TomBs and SoundfSilence. TomBs was represented by Nakamura, while SoundfSilence had sent Bishop onto the court. With both players lacking a dominating serve but excelling in their returns it might well be a clay court match like it should be. Japanese Nakamura, just back from an injury and lacking match rhythm, has the power advantage, but on the clay court Australian Bishop might well undo that with his better strokes and speed.

Nakamura had a good start to the match as he won the toss. Despite his return being his main weapon he chose to serve first. Bishop immediately took advantage of Nakamura being rusty and broke to 1-0. It proved the start of a one-sided first set, as Bishop followed up on his flying start to hold his service games with ease. With powerful and well-placed shots he managed to add another two breaks to his tally. 6-0 with just 20 minutes played.

Not exactly the start everyone, except for Bishop and his fans, was hoping for, and things were just about to get worse for Nakamura. Not able to regain his game he immediately went a double break down: 0-3. A comfortable lead for Bishop, but maybe just a little too comfortable as the Aussie promptly lost his service game to love. Nakamura took confidence out of this game and grew from strength to strength as the second set proceeded. Dominating from the baseline with his powerful forehand Nakamura held onto his service game and broke another time to level things up: 3-3. The Japanese wasn't planning on taking his foot off the throttle as he stormed to a 5-3 lead. Serving for the set the nerves caught on Nakamura though, as he lost his authority from the baseline. Bishop clawed the break back and had the chance to level things up again on his serve. Given the amount of breaks so far it was easier said than done though. Nakamura not willing to take it to a tiebreak put everything in the return game and took the set on his second setpoint: 6-4.

One set all, and everything to play for. You might as well say we're at the start of a best-of-three match now, and that's exactly what Bishop will have thought as he once again broke straightaway to take an early lead in the 3rd set. Surprisingly the break was followed by three games in a row without a service break. Bishop however was the first one to set things straight again as he broke Nakamura's serve to take a 4-1 lead. A comfortable lead he wouldn't give away as he took the set 6-2.

Not the fireworks everyone was expecting after the second set, but the fourth one would become very tight nevertheless. That despite the start, as once again Nakamura was unable to hold serve in the opening game. Bishop went on to take a 2-0 lead. Nakamura was unwilling to surrender though, and fought his way to 2-1 with some excellent forehand like we knew them from the second set. Bishop on the other hand wasn't too impressed and held onto his service game to set the score to 3-1 in his advantage. Nakamura then struggled in his service game, and when he capitulated on the third breakpoint the match seemed to go out like a candle. But that was thought outside the Japanese fighter. Nakamura immediately clawed a break back and hung on to his service game to make it 3-4. Bishop remained cool though as an easy service game meant a 5-3 lead, just one game from victory. Nakamura had all the pressure on him as a service loss would mean defeat. On character he fought his way to 4-5, wiping away a match point doing so. But then it was up to Bishop to finish the match on his own serve. Not a routine thing though, as Bishop had proven in previous matches. And once again the Australian failed to convert three matchpoints as he saw Nakamura levelling the score in the fourth set: 5-5. With Nakamura having the edge the match turned around once more though, as unlike in the second set Nakamura was unable to take the lead. Bishop took the break, and this time did finish the match on his serve, but only on his second matchpoint of the game.

Final scoreline:
Nakamura (TomBs) - Bishop (SoundfSilence): 0-6 6-4 2-6 5-7

Probably the first time in months that I've finally take a set off him again :)

At 5-5 in the 4th set. 30-40, Nakamura serving, a breakpoint down. Bishop was totally out of the point, Nakamura was in control at the middle of the net. Bishop managed to scramble a ball back way behind the baseline, bottom corner by the ball boy. Instead of putting the ball away, Nakamura does a shoulder check, and watches the ball slowly pass him.

I know this is a strictly TS3 thread but damn I don't know where else to put this!! And besides this thread seems to be (unfortunately) dying!!

Played BalkanPower (ITST member but I guess he hasn't posted here in a while) in ROCKSTAR TABLE TENNIS last night and it was one of the most amazing matches I've played in a long time...maybe ever!!!

I was Jesper and he was Luc (fun matchup) and it was best of 5 games....I lost the 1st game 0-11 (really embarassing and I honestly thought I might lose 0-11, 0-11, 0-11), barely edged out the 2nd game, dominated in the 3rd game (something like 11-4 or 11-3), lost the 4th game by 1 or 2 points, and managed to win the last game 11-6 or something like that. 5 GAMES in Table Tennis takes a long time... I think the match had to be around 1 hr. 15 minutes long!!! We had some brutal rallies and for a while he was counter-smashing every single smash of mine with winners!! I was like..."Hey wait...this is what I do to people!!" Anyways it's hard/impossible to convey the awesomeness of this match but if you're reading this Balkan Power, thanks for the match!!!!

I had a sim match with puttu puttuu, a couple of days ago, and lost 4-6, 6-0, 6-7. weird match, but definately fun. The tiebreak could have gone anybodys way but puttu puttuu returned better.

(Lets try to get this thread to a hundred pages, that would be sweet) 8)

yeah it was a pretty strange match . i won that first set and completely sat back in my chair and relaxed. Then you completely destroyed me . I sat up drank some coffee and put up a fight . I remember the rallies being extremely long . Tough match and you are right either of us could have won that tie break ... you are a great baseliner no doubt about that .

I had macth against enseimada this morning won 6-2 6-7 6-1 he plays great with nakamura . In fact anyone that plays with nakamura causes me loads of trouble ( Djarvik , Epox , Davidou ) that friggin 90 on return is depressing . it really pisses me off. The only way for me to counter these guys is to use bashmakov and place a few decent serves in . Anytime i use Bucci i get pushed around .

Had some fun matches earlier in both sim and regular :)
Played a sim match against Puttuu first which he won 7-6 3-6 6-4. He lead 5-0 in the first set before I rallied back for 5-5 but unfortunately I was squeezed out in the tiebreak. Then I rushed into a 5-0 lead in the 2nd set before Puttuu staged a brief comeback with winning 3 game in a row. Surprisingly, the final set went with serve until 4-5 when my opponent played a superb return game to seal the match.

After that I played a sim against Norberto which I won 6-3 6-4. His return game was off so I was able to get away with my serve. He got his revenge in a 40-90 match straight after though  Norberto won 7-5 6-2. His serve was unbelievable and once his return game clicked in the 2nd set, it was pretty much game over.
Good matches though 8)
