He almost got me! but fortunately i won 6-4, 6-7, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4.

DRII is a very good player, i see great potential in his game if he improves his serve.

Coke4 defeats Matt4U2NV 7-6(5) 7-6(6/7) 6-3

A very close encounter with high quality serving.

1st Set- First few games were held rather easily, then with him serving at 2-3 i got 0-40, but he saved all three, he then went on to save another in the game. I then held easily and in his next service game i got 30-40, he saved it but i got another 2 break points, he saved both. The rest of the set went with serve easily. He went up an instant mini break in the breaker, but i clawed it back and then got another and served it out at 6-5.

2nd Set- 2nd set was much closer, with no break points, and he was also slightly better than me this set. The tighest game was at 4-5 my serve when i dropped a 40-0 lead, we had many dueces before i eventually held. In the tie break i went up an immediate mini break, but he would later retrieve it. I then got another mini break deep into the tie break to take the set. I won 1 more point than him this set.

3rd Set- I held easily then got a 0-40 lead on his serve in the next, he saved the first but i took the second and held for 3-0. After this the tide changed for the next few games with him holding easier and putting more pressure on my serve. At 5-3 i got 40-30 but after a long rally he saved match point. I then got another match point and took it with a service winner from a flat serve down the T.

Apath - Patko. 7-6 (5) 4-6 7-6 (3)
6-7 (5) 7-6 (9).

Well that was an extremely tough match, he must of hit over 20 aces and his service was quite hard to read.

1st set, went to duece on his first service but held, then went according to serve and i was surprised at how well he backed up his service with powerful groundstrokes being put away. Then comes the tiebreak, i had a mini-break for 3-0 and then went according to serve, was tight.

2nd set he broke me early on with some great returns and nice risk play during the important points and i couldn't touch his serve in this set and he served it out.

3rd set we both held serve comfortably until the breaker of which i got a couple of mini breaks and served it out, bit of a lottery again.

4th set we both held serve until around 4-4, then i changed my reurns a bit and had 3 consecutive bp's to serve it out but although i played passive on the first 1, he managed to come up with the great shots and won 5 points in a row to hold serve, and then came the breaker of which he played better and held serve and played a great breaker.

5th set, we both hold serve with not much drama until the breaker. He played well and got the mini break, he had match points at 6-3 with me serving and i came up with 2 good serves and then somehow i got the mini break back and clawed it back.

Overall, i'm very lucky to get out of this one, much respect to patko7, he was definitely a different player to early 2009 and he will be hard to beat in the coming months, very impressive. 8)

Much respect to you for fighting back at 3-6 in 5th set TB. Awesome clutch tennis!

Patko - tough luck man. I've been there, it's pretty brutal.

Djarvik beats Mack2300

7.5 6.4 6.2

Not much to report other then Mack was off today. He is my friend and rival since Xbox and we always have tight matches and great rallies. This was not one of these matches. We still played out a few fantastic points, games....but for the most part I felt completely in control on my serve and on his serve. Ended up 4/10 BP to non from Mack. 55 winners to 15.

I am glad thou to see Mack back and competing. Look for him to sort out his serve and then start wining, a lot. He was and is one of the best retrievers and generally plays a very smart well anticipated and calculated match.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...
