Just had another cracking match with djarvik! Real shame that we froze towards the end of the 3rd set.

Me (Gray) Vs djarvik (Bucci)

Score was 7-6. 4-6, 4*-5 (*Adv Me, serving to level 5-5)

1st Set:

First service, I handed djarvik two easy points to start the match 0-30. I had to dig deep as if I kept going like this, he was going to bagle me. I managed to hold serve.

I can't remember exactly, but I think I broke him first, but he broke me back straight away. So tie-break it was. He had the initial mini break, leading 2-0, I clawed a mini break back, so it was 1-2. Eventually I got to 6-3, and managed to take the tie-break!

2nd Set:

djarvik started off well, holding comfortably. 1-0. I was 0-30 on my own serve, with mental will power, I managed to hold only just. Then I went on to break him! 3-1 to me. It got to 4-2 to me. He served to make it 4-3. Then broke me to make it 4-4. Then stormed the next couple of games to win the 2nd set 6-4, ensuring he will serve first in the 3rd set.

3rd Set:

Some outrageous shots from both tired players. djarvik had the clear advantage with his stamina, but even he was looking tired too. I felt he could break my serve any moment. So with me serving at 4-5, weird lag started to kick in. It had a game point, but missed the easiest volley to open court which took the game to deuce... I thought that was it for me, mentally I was pi**ed off! Well, I got to my advantage. The next point, mid rally, TS3 froze.

EVERY POINT WAS HARD WORK. djarvik's Bucci got everything back. Nice variety of shots. Great match dj, hope it was fun for you too :tu

LOL He broke me that game hahaha! But that was the 1st set, still can't believe I was a set and was up a break in the 2nd. I was just 2 hold of serves to away to beat the great djarvik! (But it really felt far away LOL)
Oh well, I'll get him next time :P

thanks silence, great vid. I never noticed that there was so many good rallies in our match, especially in just the 1 set! very good play, was lucky to win it.

And its true, i think darkpaladin takes the title of best Ps volleyer, just insane. maybe with parsons a close runner up!
and me in 3rd place :)

Well played Sound! Very tough. Shame it had to disconnect.

We did had (at least me) lag from the start of the match, the ball would freeze for split second on point of contact on my shots....causing me to mistime a lot of them  I think I went 13-18 Winners-Errors first set. Very unlike me. I finally started to get a hand of it end of first set and second set that didn't bother me as much.

Most surprising was Sounds anticipation. I was executing for the most part, but he anticipated well and often, causing me to over hit at times.

My shots finally started to hit the spots mid 2nd and it was "game on!" Sounds 90 return was definitely big factor, I would say even bigger then my 90 stamina. He was most of the time neutral on my serve when point started, allowing him to take and make risks.

Its a shame the game froze at such a moment.... I felt confident on most his service games and felt I had a slight advantage going in to tie break.

All in all a great match for me, especially considering almost a week of PS3.

Glad to finally get over the Flu! yey!

I didn't feel like that, it was real tough every game (serving or returning LOL).

I agree, I really felt you had the advantage, when it got to 4-4 2nd set, I really struggled from then. Shame your flu is over  Thanks for the praises bud.

Although i was broken twice in each set, gray served for the 1st and managed to break bak and took the tiebreak 7-1. 2nd set was broke early, broke back, held then broke again, then got broken again lol. for i think 3-3.

Great fun match bud. All those breaks were possible because our players are balanced ;)

Video ready soon. No highlights of back spasms no worries :c

yeah was a good fun match. for those who watched the vid, 2nd set was more of the same, exept i tried to be more aggressive on sound's service games as my foot speed was going due to tiredness. i stayed back a lot more too as the return was brutal. on the vid i hit quite a lot of sweet backhands! never noticed that while playing. great shots from both players.

Yeah, now that I"m back he can slaughter me again, and take that confidence into the other matches. But yes, he's a good allround player, able to play any shot.

Played Darkpaladin in two 1 set 'battle of the burn's twins' matches. Considering they are twins it must have been a very long labour lol. (BTW my player looks identical to cokes, seperated at birth?)

Anyway there were some great points and some frankly just stupid volleys going on, amazing shots from both. We was both broken in each set, and as well at the great volleying was also some great passes and return shots. Even though we had the same chracter we play quite differently, darkpaladin tends to serve slower but closer to the lines, and has more time to get to the net to hit a better volley, whereas i tend to bash it and use the volley to mop up the weak return, probably why i very rarely risk volley on the 1st volley of the point. of course we still change it up a lot.

In the 1 set i was 5-2 and 40-0 up, and blew it and got broken, and finally managed to win 6-4 on my 7th match point. in the 2nd match, i broke early for 2-1, was broken back, and then broke again at 4-3, and held off late pressure from darkpaladin again to win again 6-4.

really need to start taking these break/match point chances, wasting far too many, still managed to win though so was pretty pleased.

yea it was an extremely fun but different match, because how often do you see two S&V players squaring off?

Occasionally i laughed at volleys who went miles out, the spasm moves and ofcourse the fact Burns sometimes doesn't respond at all when you bash the proper button.

Great play by you Villa, i felt my returns were like a rollercoaster, there were intense deuce games and love games :? , maybe i just suck at returning.
You returned more consistently and managed to earn more breakpoints than me.

You are a great S&V player too Villa, you really are :)
All in all a fun match which screams for a rematch soon.

Not very often, fredz does serve and volley, and tombs, and viera has a SV player, and sometimes i convince brgerflipr to SV :)

And thanks it was a good match, my SHBH was working very well. And you are a very strong serve and volley player too.
