@ Djarvik, I'm curious since you've seen both and I know this is like comparing apples and oranges, since it's two different consoles. But how does Rob's serve compare to Oshiee's? I've never seen Rob's, but I can honestly say that Oshiee's serve is out-of-this-world.

Rob mixes his serve a little better. But Oshiee is more consistent with it. Oshiee hits on the line every time. 90%-100%. Rob is in 70% :?

emate007 wrote:Hrm, I never thought I would be described as muscling anybody around, especially with 50 power... but I get what you mean. The players you mentioned are pretty much my favorite ITST guys to play against, so you're starting out against some of the more interesting game styles. All big supporters of the sim setups as well(maybe that's why you wanted to play them).

And Djarvik does that to everyone... He hits very few amazing winners, but whenever I play him I'm always running the wrong way or watching a fairly slow ball land exactly where I didn't want it. Really pisses me off sometimes too, but I mean that in a good way.

Don't know what to say about Rob's serve... I just guess a direction most of the time, and even when I'm right I still lose half of those points.

From my point of view you are overly aggressive. You and anil were too aggressive, but I'll have to give the slight edge to you in aggression. It's like you're a ticking time bomb. One minute you're trying to angle me off with aggressive shots, the next I see a 3000 mph rocket zoom by me. You're so random, and playing you can be very frustrating cause you're always looking for the chance to chip and charge, making it a very fast paced game and even harder for me to understand what just happened. Every shot from you is like a risk, i barely have time to react. Then again I'm new, and you're used to it, but if I had to describe you to another player, I would definitely say overly aggressive S&V

Yea, djarvik beats you in an annoying way. The funny thing is that that is how I used to play in VT3. I always used my custom player and everyone i faced, like 99%, used normal pros. I couldn't overpower them so I had to use strategy. I would slice, slice, slice, hit, drop shot and make them come to net, slice, slice, come to volley, etc really mixing up my game. So when i saw djarvik using my own strategy against me, and succeeding, it really pissed me off. At that moment I wished he had just muscled me off instead. I felt insulted, like I know how to play like that, but I don't know how to defend against it. It's like you vs you, you know what "you" will do, but you don't know how to stop it, and you finally get a taste of your own medicine and see how the countless others felt when they faced you.

Btw, how is Testies? hahahaha. I have a message for him, I'll send you later.

rob's serve is not cheesy at all---he just basically has the best serve of all time on ITST---that is his strength---you can not bash our #1 server on ITST---somewhat disrespectful----and hawkeye i very much enjoyed our match----you did not mention our first match---where i won 6-1 6-2....the second match i was trying to make you realize you dont have to risk every time....you just have to use LT with a low power guy like that---do not use the RT.....and you will get the hang of it soon....but, you definitely have to be more agressive off the ground....i did not play your karlovic guy.....but, i very much enjoyed the 2 matches. your nadal is very balanced....but you need more of a strength...nadal has a much better fh than 75...and has more power than 71...id say bump up the power a bit and the forehand as well and drop the stamina down to say 70 or something like that

lol, I didn't mean cheesy in a bad way. Just like how when patrick mcenroe is commentating on a federer and nadal match and he goes, "With the kind of shots these guys are making you have to wonder if they're human", as in those shots are soo good no normal human could make them.
Rob's serves are so cheesy (good), that he leaves you wondering how he is doing it. The only way to return them effectively would be to be psychic, and even if you guess right he will be right there to volley, but guessing right isn't good cause you could get aced, but if you don't guess then you won't return the serve well giving him an easy volley. In other words, there is nothing you can do. I just used the word cheesy cause I've seen a couple of you use it to describe something that is cheap, and I was trying to be humorous  .
Rob played my karlovic, and he knows how that went  .

fh75
bh69
srv60
ret70
vol50
pwr71
spd83
stm82....correct me if im wrong.....but, up the fh and pwr and drop the stm and he should be fine...something like this hawkeye

fh82
bh69
srv50
ret70
vol50
pwr79
spd90
stm70....try that hawkeye....you will see a big difference you still have plenty of stamina you will have a better fh, lesser serve a little more power and definitely you will have more speed

Yea I modified him.

I tested him against Moralspain today. Moral I really enjoyed playing you, I mean maybe not so much the first match we had, but I liked the second, and definitely the third. In the second match I finally was able to slightly keep up with you in rallies. In the third match, I messed up the first set and I was too defensive. Second set I became LT happy again, still losing 6-3. The funny thing is that when you broke me, you serving 5 - 3 for the match, I couldn't believe that I almost broke you back. You see right when you broke I was like "what do I need to do to break back? You know what screw tactics, LT/RT here I come again", lol, and I almost broke you. I had one open shot to break but I became defensive again. I used aggression and mindlessly hitting to get the chance, only to become defensive again?? sigh. And then all of a sudden you started making more RT shots that you missed before, it's like you said "enough of this, there's no way I'll get broken by this noob"

I need a lot of practice before the next sim tournament so that by the time it comes around I can breeze through it and take the trophy, I kid I kid  . I predict a first round loss, nothing smells better that hot toasted bagels in the morning.

What!?!?!? some one serves better than rob

Uhhh, that doesn't make sense. What i don't understand is how rob can have a 90 serve 50 power and constantly hit 135 mph? I have to know how he does it.

I use the right analog stick for my serves. It gives you more power.

since the demo was available ive used analog for all the serves. Slice and topspin are difficult but when you and ur opponents stamina are low that when it counts as you make them and they start to miss.

WHAT!?!?!? and i finally started to like his nose.

I use the right stick too, and it does generate more power for sure, but how can you generate 130 + with only 50 power? It puzzles me. Just wondering, what's the fastest you've ever hit? Cause if for you 50 power = 135, then 90 power for you must be like 270 mph serves all the time.

With 90 I think I hit 143mph. The fastest is 150 with 100/100.

Don't worry, my new 50 power guy has an equally ridiculous nose.

OK, it's not true that there's nothing you can do, but how is any of that different from the real Sampras? I've pretty much tried to copy his game: Serve big and hit good volleys so I don't get broken. Wait for opportunities on return games, try to play the big points well, and hit as many forehands as possible.

Exactly. Thats why people say, "If sampras breaks your serve then he takes the set." I have broken Rob, but not many times at all. You have to be patient with him and dont get worried about getting aces.

my serve and volley philosophy is more like taylor dents, not too concerned about a volley just try and hit a very good serve to have a easy put away. That being said i often have to make many tough volleys lol. My current player is 90 serve and 80 power and i can serve 141 with the stik.

Lost to Djarvik 7-6 6-2. Me as Berdych him with his S.Al character. Opening game and I advanced to 0-40 and got the break, we had some testing rallies, a good mix of different strokes and extended rallies. We then held through to 5-4 and I had a set-point at 40-30 but he broke and won the tie break.

I thought my higher power stat had quite a bearing on the first set but in the end it hurt me as my stamina decreased and my errors rose alarmingly in the second set and he eased through.

Overall a lot of fun but Djarvik is still the best, sim or no-sim.
