How many people do you know who say they are "struggling", but they have cell phones, internet, cable/satellite TV, etc? If they were truly struggling, they couldn't even think of having those things. Everyone says, "I work hard and I have no money" - but really, compared to 99.999% of the people who have ever lived on this earth, we do very little and have a lot. I'm sure same is true for most of Europe as well. We're all guilty.
And please, don't reply to this claiming that you are poor - if you play video games, you're not poor. Or, if you play video games and you really are poor, then you need to get your priorities in line. Hell, if you're poor and you're spending time reading about playing video games, there's something very wrong.
Imagine the King of England/France/Spain/etc just a few hundred years ago, and how much he would envy us for things like phones, TV's, toilets, hot water..... Kings would be jealous of us!

Haha! Sorry but this is total ****! Get some sleep, stop touching yourself about the doubles tour and know that nowadays we don't die because of the same diseases than 50 years ago (Aids..., we can now live after a cancer...).Julius Jackson wrote:...and go through the same ritual of aging that people experienced 50 yrs ago....
You mean, after beeing 20 years old we go to 30 years old, and then 40, 50, 60... ?
The only thing i could agree with you is :
"the actual standard of living hasnt improved much in the past 50 yrs. its just that luxury goods now dominate the collective consciousness and give the illusion of comfort."
It's kinda true, but only in certain part of the world, and/or only for a few "happy people"...
