Okay, I've sent out some pm's to a few other American players. I'll see who gets back to me and who is committed to playing their matches and I should be able to put together a good five person team very soon. I may not even be on the team myself, but that's quite all right with me. At the moment I assume we have four players that want to play:

1. Snowflake
2. Anteros
3. The Tri Fecta
4. Sherlock 117

Unless some of the other Americans who have stopped playing for a while come back, I'd say it's a pretty sure thing you and Anteros will be at #1 and #2. I would like to get one or two more Americans though who could play a few practice matches with some of the other teammates so we could get a solid third and fourth player nailed down. I want to have a solid fourth player available just in case someone needs to pull out.

Okay, I've signed us up now. I put TriFecta on the roster for the moment, but if you want to be considered for the lineup and for actually playing a match in the tie, you'll need to respond in some way to show me you are still interested and motivated to help the team win.

The only other USA player I've heard back from is Joesixtoe, giving me only 5 players who have voiced interest. So I'm just putting everyone in the lineup who has got back to me. The team can change for the next tie, so anyone who would be interested do not hesitate to let me know.

I am going to set practice sessions for Friday evenings from 8-10 Eastern US time. Anybody is welcome to be online during that time and participate, whether on the team or not. Nobody on the team is required to be online during that time, so don't feel like being on the team is going to be a huge committment for you. But having a set time like this will give us a time we can plan on playing matches with each other. If anybody wants to suggest other times to do it, please do so.

The way I would like to run these is to basically just mix up playing matches between whoever is on that night. Some nights we may just try competitive matches, other nights if anyone has some suggestions we may work on one or two things (like returns, practicing kick serves, etc.) and not worrying about winning the matches.

Just so you all know, I was online tonight during most of the schedule time but I didn't find any other team members online. It looked like Anteros and Joe were both online until about 7:40 Eastern time and Rob was online until about 7:10, just a few minutes before I arrived.

I plan on being online during this time every Friday night like I said, unless I can't for some reason and then I'll make sure to send out a pm saying so.

If the time I chose isn't good for somebody, please let me know and I'd be willing to work out a different. Especially on Fridays anytime between 7:30 and 12 Eastern time will work for me.

I believe I have these guys for the US team right now:

Myself
Rob
Anteros15
Joesixtoe

Sorry but I can't remember if there were other players who were interested. Please post here and let me know as soon as possible if you want to play for the team (that means you Djarvik). I will kick myself off if there is more than one person interested, so don't feel like there's no room for you. Plus you can always come to practices, which I will try and start up again now that Davis Cup is official.

You're not kicking me out Djarvik, we get five guys. I said if more than one guy wants to play I'll give up my spot. So you and I can both be on the team :D

Actually SV vs. SV is almost more boring in some respects. Very few breaks of serve and once one guy gets the net it's basically over. But it does definitely give a different dynamic.
