P.Napalm def iBullet91 6-3 6-4

Another first round defeat!

Napalm played with Del Potro and was very agressive from the baseline...he hit a lot of clean winners on the top spin shots I hit.

The first serve percentage killed me. Napalm had a first serve percentage of 90%! Mine was only 48%. This let him dominate on his serve. I really struggled on my serve games because Napalm attacked the second serves really well. I only hit 14 aces in the match...compared to 31 in my previous match.

Second set Napalm got a break in the first game. I hit back later and broke him on my first (and only) break point of the match. Napalm immediately broke me again though and after that closed out the match.

This may be my last tournament using Murray...think I may switch to Delpo and try a more powerful player out.

Good luck Napalm for the rest of the tournament! :D Back to the practice courts for me

I like the power which Del Potro has in TE. His slice, drop shots and volleys are preety weak, but I love his flat fh and solid bh. Yes, my % of service stayed on high level, because I decided to consume less power, but more accurate.
Bullet plays far from the baseline, so from one side it's hard to hit a winner, but from the other side his fh and bh is preety easy to return.
In the first set I have tried to hold my serve after break and I did it. Is second set I had more problems, Bullet has started to feel a direction.
There was some good, long rallies. In sum - nice match. :)

Just lost 0-6 0-6 to Juani, a guy from Argentina....the connection was just terrible; just coudn't put a decent shot in
First time I experience that kind of circumstances...somehow, he was playing well..it's just a matter of getting used with this type of connections ?

I could tell that he's a good player...He was playing well like there was no lag at all...I don't think this is the reason...most likely he got used with it playing a lot with european players and also the fact of using Nadal may help in these circumstances.

Tigerofintegrity def Norberto.H 6-4, 7-6

I don't think either of us were playing that well today but it turned out to be a close match in the end. Norberto, as Federer, was being the aggressive one and hit many good winners but made a few too many mistakes. He was also serving quite well and I wasn't returning as well as I would have liked so there were a lot of aces.

I broke early in the first set with the one break point chance and that was it for the match, no more break points to be seen after that! I also finished the match in the tiebreak on a lucky net cord - karma will get me back on that one someday. :P

It's nice to start off the tour with a win and there's still plenty of room for improvement for both of us. :)

Semifinal

Spencercarlos def P.Napalm 6-3 6-1

Great first set, i really expected a tough battle in this match, i was kind of surprised i was able to get out of it in straight sets. But the first set was way tougher than a 6-3 indiacted. Good player Napalm.

FInal
Spencercarlos def Felipe10 7-5 6-2

Hard to describe what this match was. The great part was the one on the other side of the net, a great mate and great sportsman this Felipe. He waited for me and did not want to take a WO as winning.

The match was so hard, as he was Nadal and me Federer on clay. Long points lots of 20+ strokes rallies, no accelerations, they are just so useless on clay  , just trying the best to outthink points. Tons of breaks of serve and i really thought he would have easily win this match had he taken the first set.

I think match i had to play a little more at the net, which i dont like at all because i am so basic at it , but that was the way for some of this match.

I was up 3-1 5-3 and had 40-15 at 5-4 and could not close the set out, he broke for 5-5  .
I somehow managed to break and serve out the set, and the break again for 1-0 in the second, but he broke back. From 1-2 in the second "i won" 5 straight games. I put the "" because i really felt he kind of gave up in the end when i broke for 3-2.

This victory is dedicated to my really good friend MichaelD. Who is titleless in the last events i am sure he is happy for me..

Yeah Fed on clay vs the current Nadal must be really hard to win. You can only win that kind of matchup with thinking & tactic, so congratulations Carlos ;)
