Pro or SIM?

Postby djarvik » Sun, 25 Mar 2012 21:56

As you know by now, the SIM tour for Xbox 360 was discontinued. The sign-up numbers were too low for us to support such a tour.

I want the current SIM tour players on PS3 vote and voice their opinion about ITST hosting a Pro Tour instead of SIM tour for PS3 console as well. Since there are enough sign-ups on PS3 tour in the last few tournament to warrant a tour hosting, we cannot simply discontinue it, without consulting the players.

Unfortunately, there can only be one. We are not in a position to host both. Please pick.

Thanks everyone!

This poll won't show what SIM players really want. Anyone can vote, and everyone knows that people who don't play SIM and play regular tour, is going to choose the Pro Tour. Anyway i like the idea of pro tour, but i like SIM very much. I voted SIM, but as i said i like the Pro Tour idea.

Only one question: NADAL and his MD would be allowed??

Lol..

Ppl are talking/voting way to much without knowing what they say/vote..

You think Welch was annoying?

AGassi has same wings with better reflexes, power etc etc.. so same short crossing troubles will start over again.

I predict pro tour could become very annoying, ppl already start talking without knowing how it actually plays.. players like Djokovic Agassi etc has such great returns it's just scary, you don't have to do anything for that. To play with these players is way to easy if you ask me.

Perfect solution?

New and renovated SIM tour with better setups.

Something like this. (whatever ppl might think there would be no dominant setups, it has all been tought out.)

But unlike welch, the regular tour has loads of players who can match agassi, like Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Murray and Borg. Sooooooooooooooooooooooo....... Yah

I'm agree with you Dennie. Yesterday i was looking the pro players, and i noticed the same thing. Agassi is going to be the new Welch. 91 FH 81 BH with better stats and skills would be a nightmare, and we will have the same problem than in REG tour.

SIM should stay, with a few adjustments if its necessary. I like your idea.

Dennie, there will be no new SIM. The choice is either Pro tour or Current SIM. And by the looks of it it is going to be Pro.

I explained soooo many times why  I am starting to think I am talking to myself here.

If we cannot put a humongously large gap between Reg and SIM - then we are not interested in SIM.

I will start deleting off topic posts, which now include all tour suggestions. :?

Instead of playing, we constantly banter about the changes. we NEVER had so many talks and doubts in our ability and work. You don't like it - don't participate. It is simple. There are plenty other tours we running.

@ELTXETXU - I made the poll knowing that, so I am really looking for comments about the current SIM and the number of people who do prefer SIM. In order for us to run a healthy tour, we need constant 32 draws filled. Each week. This is not happening now.....hence we need to make a decision on a more popular endeavor.

Lol sorry man, I just have a different opinion about it in REG tour you cannot use the type of setup (OB DB AB SV) AB and SV are just as competitive here plus in REG you will still only see rabari's, neuwirth's etc there IS a large gap :D ( And I know you don't have to repeat yourself gameplay will still be the same like you said be4) Instead of a toned down tour like SIM was you now want to replace it with all extreme setups like on PRO tour? This is a in-between solution. Anyway I respect your opinion I will stop about it

Thanks man.

The Pro tour is what a lot of people asked for before. I am somewhat in between on it. From one side, I feel like the setups are too powerful, but then again, they are ALL too powerful. So it will be an "arcade" tour, nothing fun for me personally. The Pro tour will also help a lot of casual gamers to join us. There is no haste of making players etc...all you do is pick a guy and play. So our out-reach will increase a bit, which is good.

Pro tour will also have an element of Picking a player and sticking with him through the tournament. It sort of adds another layer of fun.

Will there be bitching? You bet! TS4 is a bitchy game, there are so many angles you can take if you want to bitch about it - its scary :P

I undestand. I always have wanted a Pro Tour, but is sad to say good bye to the SIM tour.

Now, if finally the new rules goes ahead and the pro tour begins, it seems that the REG tour is going to be the SIM and the Pro is going to be the REG :D

Sim tour failed. What is wrong about renovating it? I like the idea of new sim tour. According to djarvik there should be a gap between sim and reg then why don't you try to create new sim characters which will not be as strong as reg characters but not even as weak as present sim characters.. Maybe this will attract more people towards sim tour. But there will be no new sim tour= that's the bottom line because stone cold said sooo.. :D

Either way I think pro tour will be much better at least than the present sim tour.. Atleast will be not as boring and slow as sim
