I see what Djarvik is saying. There's only so much you can learn and once you master the fundamentals, there's no need to practice hard every day. Like Likos, if ur great at playing matches (...and you win them consistently...), there's no need to spend a lot of time "training" because you're pretty much as good as you're gonna get.

I for one, on the other hand, have to practice and learn the fundamentals, so I'd put myself in the 10+hr category.

Spot on.

I think in this game practice mostly gives you confidence. A sort of placebo effect. But in reality the game is rather simple.

Right now in my opinion Sh0case is the best player here on ITST, ask him hom many hours he play in a week, my guess would be like 30+ hours.

I can't really say TBH, it varies.
I don't play world tour, I've stopped playing 2k open since joining ITST and the players in public online player matches aren't worth playing, the only good player I met in one of those was Mount Cleverest.
I only actually play ITST matches and private matches. Usually the players that I am interested in playing are online at the same time so I will either play a few of them or have a match against one and by the time I finish the match the rest have gone.
I only play Fifa Tee regularly, after that I probably play Loki and On3Touch the most.
If I receive an invite I'll play but I normally just invite every Top Spin player online at the time and play the first to join.
When Fifa 12 came out I mostly played that and only played ITST matches, but I sold Fifa 12 last week so now I only ever have Top Spin in my console. I'm not always playing it though, I spend time creating players more than anything.
Basically I might be on for 30 hours but I'm only play for 15 (for example)

I don't feel like I need to play it much to maintain whatever level I am at though. This is my first Top Spin game and I watch a lot of Tennis so this game still has a lot of appeal to me.

Yeah but I bet he played a lot when he first got the game, as did I. I think you definitely do need to put a good bit of time into this game to get the most out of it but once you get there, you never really drop a huge amount if you don't practice (unless you're practically not playing matches as well). ITST matches alone are enough to keep you sharp. All the top players at some stage did put a lot of hours into the game though to get where they are. :)
