Personally I love how the game is made. It's in my opinion, far more intense than any FIFA or any other (sport) games. Try to play a fifa game and come back playing a ts4 top level match, you'll see what i mean.

I think I only had that sensation with PES5, Top Spin 1, and Virtua Tennis 2 on Arcade/Dreamcast :)

I only played Lokisharpshooter once for like 10 seconds until I decided our USA/Brazil connection is unplayable.

i dont see why you made a thread isolating loki. The way he plays the game is one of the best, he doesnt lag or anything, it is fair to say that he is a bit of a troll on the forums, but in a match situation he is fair and plays a good game! There are far worse players on ITST who fully cheat and cheese etc.. Loki is not one of them.

Lokisharpshooter is a fantastic player, to be honest whilst I do not play TS4 much these days this guy has really picked up the mantle. A great all rounder, perfect timing, intelligence and volley mix up.

Julius Jackson's comments here are irrelevant on all accounts - Lokisharpshooter along with Sh0case are a class act, a talent pool that I have not come across in a long time. When TS4 kicked off in May OuiMr Berson, Dapery, Hollla Itz Mike, Retos and myself were carving out our place at the top , just because people have moved on for different reasons does not mean to say that the new influx are not as talented - on the contrary, i think they are setting the standard, even an old dog like me is finding it hard to catch up in practice matches.

However what is lacking now and especially amongst the top ranked players is respect - I have never seen so much winging and bitching as what is being flung around at the moment. At the end of the day there are always going to be playing styles that are not for everyones taste, however show some people a bit of respect and show yourselves to be credible. Back in Ts3 days the likes of Noberto, Illuvbillval, Djarvik, Puttu, Zizou where all warriors and whilst some people did not warm to each others tatics the thrill and intensity of being in a match with them was still there - at the end of the day we we all playing in ITST, no one forced us to do it. The same should apply now.

Also the site is not just about the top guns, far from it, what makes the site is not the Top 10 but the hundreds of members that keep this site ticking over with tight management - people play because they enjoy topspin, people play because they like the concept of ITST, people play because they have a spare 2 hours a week to play some video games from time to time. I myself have had moments of over boiling the odd time on the forums, its instinctive in some people but that does not mean its acceptable.

ehh...

ive played showcase/fifatee...apparently 2 of the top players in singles...IN DOUBLES...and they got crushed. they arent that good. berson is much better.

singles is just about finding 1 thing that works and rinse/repeat. hit 100% control shots and spam RB. singles requires skill...but its not based on tennis..its based on going to the arcade and learning the right exploits so you can show your friends your high score.

so while loki must be good...hes not facing the top competition. the top competition has already grown tired of this awful gm and moved onto other things.

I've never lost a match to Berson and I've played him more than 5 times, you've never played me 1v1 either..
Also you couldn't believe the shots I was producing with Federer in the doubles match so I'm not sure why you're dismissing me TBH.

Anyway, t's a shame half the top players from the start no longer play, the tour now could be extremely competitive.

How come you were signing up to sim tournaments if you don't like singles?

youre 1-0 vs him in TS4...u won 2 sets to 1...7-5 in the 3rd. Wouldnt exactly say thats a dominating performance....but you did win, true.

we washed the court with you in doubles. u won 3 gms in 3 sets and never had a break pt. i commented on your shots simply cuz it seemed you had figured out an exploit...and u had had complaints about your gameplay before..so i was curious what your answer would be.

people tried the SIM Tour as a last ditch effort to enjoy this game. SIM is no better...arguably worse than the regular tour in some respects.

TS4 is not fixable through patches because its very foundation (movement, control shots, returns, etc.) is irrevocably flawed. so many have given up and stopped playing. ill play doubles (if theres ever another tourney  ) but i wont touch the venereal disease that is singles.

ITST is not the only place matches are played, Mr Berson has never beaten Sh0Case and im sure they have played over 5times.

lol Jay 8) I second Baghdad's statement. The respect level needs to come up a whole lot here. There's obvious flaws in the game that ppl rape to score wins, but you always have the moderators you can voice your concerns to (and the "cheese play" thread)

I can't wait to come back to TS4 for a few reasons; the ITST tour and team, the thrill of playing someone online...etc, etc

The game may not be to all of our liking, but its not all bad and like Baghdad said, nobody is forcing anybody to play here. This is supposed to be a fun, supportive community of tennis enthusiasts and gamers... and quite honestly I'm not sure how much longer the moderators are gonna allow this thread to live on the forum if the attitude of it doesn't change.

Let's try to respectfully debate and not tear ppl down, and if that fails, resolve this by playing your own series of matches to really prove who is the best.

Norberto in TS3 was hated by many bc he mastered the risk system and became virtually unbeatable. I say thumbs up! When I started learning risk in TS3 my respect level for him grew exponentially. When I come back to TS4 I don't expect to win that much lol, but I will have fun watching the uncheesey mastery that the top guys in this generation of top spin demonstrate, even if its at my expense lol, and I'll get better.

I'm just here to enjoy the game.

I agree with Julius. I don't see point construction through control shots in the real grand slam events at the pro level or even in real tennis at amateur level. The game seems to overemphasize these aspects power shot/control shot etc. Movement also is kindof flawed in the game in that the software moves the player to where *it* thinks the player should play the shot from, sometimes you are just stuck in no man's land and unable to move back even if your analog is all the way back. The game in my opinion would be far better if it atleast gave full 1-1 control of player movement and remove the RB c*** which is open to far more abuse by spammers.

I liked the control of shots and player in WII GST. Granted the graphics and dynamics and bugs had a lot to be desired - but full motion control tennis game is something I have been waiting for years for someone to get right.

There are reasons why I still play GST on Wii from time to time, probably I play it more than TS4: Being able to move my player around the way I want and being able to decide on my own how much spin I put on my shots are probably the two most important ones. Hopefully GST 2 with Move will be as much fun as GST on Wii.
