On the other hand we have the sim tour that well im not gonna say anything about it.

So this aint all that! And thats the truth. Top spin 3 was all about risk, well this game its all about acing people or just hitting control shots left and right. Not a lot of difference if you ask me!

exactly. TS4 singles is determined by aces and control reflex shots at bs angles. whoever gets the magical control shot to the middle of the box first wins the pt. just retarded. those shots RARELY happen in real life yet TS4 is so utterly flawed that the entire mode of singles is determined by these "incredible" shots

ive said it before, ill say it again. the ONLY thing that is sim/done well in TS4 is serving. the rest of the gm is utterly crap.

the reason doubles is lightyrs better is because most of the flaws that are magnified in singles are simply not allowed to matter in doubles. for example, the short angle crosscourt crap...does nothing for you in doubles. dropshots...do nothing for you in doubles. overpowered setups...do nothing for you in doubles. doubles is about strategy and skill; singles is about finding a broken aspect of the gm...rinse/repeat until you win.

Are you two mad that you suck?

i suck at a broken game  i just refuse to hit control shots the whole match. its freakin' boring and not even close to sim. but you ONLY hit control shots so...

have u played doubles? everyone agrees it is MUCH better than singles. doubles is actually close to tennis. singles is some arcade version of pong.

So is real life tennis. You picked the most realistic aspect in a tennis to say it was not.

Only DMT is more realistic in this aspect then TS3. I am good at both games, like you, and I definitely think TS3 was more fun and more realistic. TS4 is great as well, I am a sucker for all tennis games :P and played them all. But it is farther away from the "real thing" then the DMT and TS3.

In TS4 I feel like I am "controlling" my player too much, I am playing against a my controller mainly. DMT and TS3 I could completely get into the game and play the opponent rather then a controller. In TS4 when I lose a point, most times it is because my player somehow didn't listen to what I asked him to do. Whether it is because I made a mistake in "controlling him" or else....bottom line, it doesn't feel natural. I cannot hit the shot I want to hit, I have to hit the shot the game wants me to hit, cause I know it will be effective, rather then a shot that I choose and KNOW should be effective in this situation  :wee ...if this makes sense at all.

Anyway, I enjoy both games and prefer SIM as it eliminates any and all advantage that overpowered setups and certain tactics give to the skilled players. Top players will always be top players, but the rest will have to play to their strength, instead of following the trend and picking the most powerful setup. I think in regular tour, too many close matches get decided by a type of player used and in SIM it is not the case. All players are balanced really well. Last month Naka was ruling the world wining or being finalist in all tournaments, this month he is not even in a single one. I think as players get to try more and more SIM characters, they will discover how to win with each. Look at Zooloo dominating with Bashmakov on PS3, and none on Xbox seem to make sense of him

I really dont think real life tennis is about risk on every ball, i mean there´s a certain risk but every 6.0+ player can make most shots without a lot risk(at least where i play) in real life tennis its all all about dislocating your oponnent so that his shot will be a weak one or go out or hitting a powerfull enoguh shot that he cant reach.

(Again thats how i feel about it).

That's just the thing, if you were good in TS3, then the risk was not a risk at all, until you got pushed by a better player. You not saying anything different than I do.

Are you a 6.0+ player?

Maybe before of of my accident i was around 5.5 but i´ve played a lot of 6.0 and 6.5 players to be able to talk about it.

Ah, that's right, I remember you had an accident. My dreams ended the same way  although I did get to play the small stuff...

Anyway, I think you are on the same page as I am. Element of risk is present all the time. In TS4 this element is tiny, no, make it near non-existent. In TS3 it was small, but it was there. Try DMT if you didn't, they absolutely nailed the shots there, rallies and everything.... although serving-returning I didn't like.

LokiSharpShootr stfu! Anytime i read something from you it is the same thing. You suck, you are not succesful. It is the same never ending story. This game has mayor flaws and everybody knows that. I have my own opinion and it should be respected! I really dont care if you guys agree with me or not but dont tell childish stories about the way people play this game.
Nothing personal against anybody cause im sure i dont know who you guys are in real life but I thought after the update tha this game would be more balanced and that we were gonna enjoy it at it fullest. But guess what, almost everybody i have play after it, now all of the sudden the only thing i see its control shots. I mean, i love control shots, a lot but come one sometimes i feel like im playing an Atari game. It is just weird!

I would love for the game as a whole to be a little faster, maybe 20% or so :P

I think the actual pace of the game is pretty close to realistic. One problem. Realistic doesn't always mean fun when it comes to speed of the ball. IMO Players should be slower while the ball faster. This will lead to shorter rallies. But it will only work if the element of risk is greatly increased. TS4 is trying to be noob friendly by letting the ball go over the net and drop in even on "late" or "too soon" shots. That should never happen.

Excellent - Close to the line
Good - less precision
Too soon - sail long
Late - into the net

Make maybe 10% or so of "lucky" shots that will still go in on the "Too Soon" or "Late", the rest should result in errors.

Alternatively, make two modes for multilayer and WT:

Pro - see my suggestion above
Arcade - see the game in current state

just played ary1g on the sim tour was a pretty gd match apart form him moving all over the place when im serving and i no its not overly cheesy but is annoying yet he has the cheeck when i do a few forehand slices to message me saying dont do it loool. anyway i finally found my range after the 1st few sets and won but imo sim is better as you need to think more and it gives everyone a chance to compete on a level playing field

I like both games quite a bit but to be honest really did wish TS4 were a little closer to TS3 in terms of controls. I think it's over simplified to the point where hitting a great shot doesn't even really feel all that rewarding because it practically happens constantly. That would be my biggest issue really other than that it's a great game with a lot of visual improvements to its predecessor.
