Normal Too Easy, Hard too Hard.

Postby broonster » Tue, 27 Sep 2011 04:26

So I'm completely new to Top Spin.

I played a few Exhibition games on Normal and quickly (or so I thought) got the hand of it and ended up beating Federer when playing as Murray. So I started my career mode on Hard Level. Biiiiig mistake. I'm finding it way too hard. I can't beat a single opponent. Any shot played too short or too early or too late is murdered. If I set the level back to Normal I find it it too easy.

When starting a career who starts at normal and then moves up to Hard once they have gained better stats and who starts on Hard fromt eh very beginning?

When i start a career i start it on expert but don't worry the more you play the game the better your timing would be then with the better timing comes the greater shots so just keep practicing :D

I've been playing it for hours and i'm still useless at hard level. Is it really just in the timing?

Its not really really just in the timing but timing is a huge part in every thing once you get the timing right things would be easier and with the timing you got to know how to position yourself and master your control shots. There's alot more but just keep playing and trust me you will improve that is what everyone does they just keep practicing. You will not master everything over night like i said keep playing and you'll start improving

so should i concentrate on control shots early on. I try power shots and I'm always too late with them.

Play it on hard, it will help you get better. Eventually you will be able to play on expert (after a lot of practice!)

Yeah never start playing on easy! i started on expert, its a bit hard at the beginning, you have no idea how to beat those guys especially with higher levels but you will improve and findi t very easy to beat the CPU.
the best thing is you are not playing against a BRAIN, its a cpu and you can fool it easily, leave one side empty and they usually hit there  , improve your timing and use enough power shots, that would do the trick for CPU. but for playing in a higher level you must just play , play and play.

lol it's not even that hard really, you just have to know how to play them :) I'm sure I'm not the only one who beats them this easily after all it's a cpu, they are easy to read ;)

If you play short balls, they are pro's in finishing this shots, but when you constantly keep the ball deep, they are powerless.

last night I started to get my timing sorted and I won a few tournaments on Hard. I think I'm starting to get it. Been using cross-court top spin shots into the service courts and that seems to work quite well.

There is light at the end of the tunnel :D

I've done it too, once you get the hang of it you kind of know what to do. The CPUs in this game are actually very predictable.
